  December 2001

26.12.2001.
Hello, everybody!
First of all, merry Christmas to all of you! Hope you're having fun and all...
Due to all this Xmas hysteria and the fact that most of you are obviously away these days, we decided to take a short break as well and go camping. That's why we CANCEL THE SHOW on 27th December and will be back on 3rd January 2002.
Meanwhile we managed to get in touch with Jonne Jarvela of SHAMAN, who promised us their brand new album "Shamaniac". Hopefully we'll get it soon and play it to you.
Once again: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Have fun, be very-very naughty boys and girls and we'll give you some presents next show!
Yours
House Of Noizz team.

RHAPSODY bassist Alessandro Lotta is out of the band. He will be replaced by Patrice Guers (CONSORTIUM PROJECT/PATRICK RONDAT) on the next Rhapsody tour. Meanwhile the new "EP" "Rain Of A Thousand Flames" is out! Hopefully we’ll bring you some new tracks from RHAPSODY as soon as we can.

One of the most interesting examples of Progressive Thrash Metal, WATCHTOWER have finished their new album, "Mathematics". The band now is looking for the major label to put it out.

A pleasant surprise for the fans of the Power Metal legend HELLOWEEN. Turns out that Michael Kiske is singing on almost the entire album of his ex-bandmates Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch. SYMPHONY X singer Russell Allen is still involved in the band, but on the less important role than it was originally planned.

Chuck Schuldiner 16.12.2001.
This is a dark days for the Heavy Metal Community.
Chuck Schuldiner, the leader of DEATH and CONTROL DENIED, one of the founders of Death Metal as a style and the one of the most talented individuals in the world of music, died on December 13th after a long battle against cancer.
Chuck will be missed not only by his family, friends and fans, but also by all those who take Heavy Metal as a way of life. Rest in peace, Chuck.
You can visit
http://www.emptywords.org/memorial.htm to pay your tribute to Chuck.

Jonne Järvelä's band SHAMAN will release their new CD "Shamaniac" on 2nd January. Jonne appeared as guest vocalist on FINNTROLL's "Jaktens Tid" album and supported the band during their gigs in 2000/01 by doing the Joik-singing and playing acoustic guitar and shaman drums. Right now we’re trying to find out if Jonne will take part in the recording of the new FINNTROLL album.

And finally!!!
The Interview with SKYCLAD’s bass player, Graeme English is ready. The entire thing is about an hour long, so we will edit it and you will hear it soon. The interview will be also added on this website.

8.12.2001.

Nokturnal Mortum Seems like the re-release of Nokturnal Mortum's "Lunar Poetry" has become a fatal mistake in the relationship between the band and their recording label - Nuclear Blast. According to the sourcces close to the band, Knjaz Varggoth (vocal/guitars) clamed the release of "Lunar Poetry" "Illegal" and blamed the recording company for changing the original cover artwork. Hopefully, Ukrainian Black Metal gods has some other labels in perspective, so we won't have to wait for too long for their next creation.

      November 2001

27.11.2001.
The best Black Metal band of all times - NOKTURNAL MORTUM - has re-released their first album "Lunar Poetry". Originally the album was released only in MC format back in 1996, so the quallity isn't great. BUT! Stuff like that is already C.U.L.T. and just must have for every Black Metal fan! The artwork is also amazing!

Actually, besides NOKTURNAL MORTUM, heaps of interesting things has happened during the week, so you can expect some surprises on Thursday...
Stay True.

Well, I guess it stopped being funny already, but the story with the split of EMPEROR is up again. The following quote is taken from the band's official website:
"It's confirmed, Emperor will NOT be doing any more shows, and the new album is in fact the bands last album. Pay attention to the media in the coming months and you will get your answers. We will try to update the site soon with some in-depth info."

Everybody move to
www.emperorhorde.com for more information.

25.11.2001.
Nobody really expected it to happen, but Graeme English, the bass player of British SKYCLAD just replied to our interview request:
"Hi Max ,
Sorry for not getting back to you , your post on our message board reminded me that I had not organised this interview yet , I'm always to busy doing too many different things and forget to do so many things. Hopefully I can remedy this by doing the interview next weekend , that would either be the 1st or 2nd of December... Speak to you soon , Bean !!"
So everybody can prepare now, for the CLAD IS COMING!

MORBID ANGEL have finally officially confirmed the departure of bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, who left the band in earlier this year due to "personal and family problems" and was replaced by bassist/vocalist Jared Anderson (HATE ETERNAL). According to the official sourses, "Steve has decided to pursue other musical and personal interests and is indeed no longer a member of MORBID ANGEL. We wish him all the best and look forward to his future musical endeavours."

Swedish power metal band NOCTURNAL RITES are due to enter the studio in Sweden with producer Daniel Bergstrand (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, STUCK MOJO, MESHUGGAH) later this month to begin recording their new CD. The album still has no name, but it will be released through Century Media Records next spring.

Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch want the fans' help to decide their new band name. They want opinions about their temporary name (Mr. Torture) and new suggestions.
The singer of the project is officially confirmed. It’s Russell Allen, the vocalist of Symphony X. The drums are already recorded. But the most surprising news is the confirmation of the former Helloween singer Michael Kiske as a guest appearance for some tracks. Grapow and Kusch have a temporary band name - Mr. Torture - but they didn't decide yet if it will be the actual name.
Check the Projects section of http://www.roland-grapow.cjb.net for details.

KREATOR will record some shows on their upcoming Violent Revolution tour for both a double live album and a DVD. The album will include 24 tracks from all periods of the band’s history, but the DVD will have one professionally recorded live concert, all the video clips ever filmed by the band, TV appearances, rare material and some interesting material from the KREATOR’s private archives. Release date is set for the end of 2002.

14.11.2001.
Tommy & Jan(Elusive) A lot of interesting stuff has happened in a last few days. We managed to get in touch with guys from promising new band ELUSIVE that consists of the following people: Tommy Olsson (guitars and programming; former member of the gothic legend THEATRE OF TRAGEDY), Morten Veland (guitars; former TRISTANIA) and Jan (vocals; former the MORENDOES). Hopefully these names sound familiar to most of you. Tommy promised us some promo material for their upcoming album "Destination Zero" and, as soon as it will arrive, we'll play it to you.

Tanya (LULLACRY) Looks like Finland is about to become the new Mecca of Heavy Metal in next couple of years. The new Finnish sensation LULLACRY is ready to strike with their second album "Be My God". Fronted by the EPIC-looking singer Tanya, the band plays something between Power Metal and Gothic Rock with lots of melodies and heavy riffs. Worth checking out...

Our favourite band DEMON BURGER... hmmm... sorry, DIMMU BORGIR is preparing a new present for their fans. "Alive in Torment" - the new product from the Burger Kings features five live tracks recorded in Stuttgart, Germany on the Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia tour. The guitarist Silenoz described the limited edition release to be "extremely raw and brutal, straight in the face, no power ballads" (who thought otherwise???). The product will show up in February 2002.

08.11.2001.
We apologise to all those of you, who were waiting for us to go on air tonight, but in power of certain circumstances we were forced to cancel the show.
To stop any rumours straight away: HOUSE OF NOIZZ is NOT going off air. It’s just a one night thing and we promise to make it up to you next week (15 Nov. 2001) with loads of Heavy Metal, brand new releases, rare and unreleased tracks and other goods that you will never hear on any other New Zealand stations!
Stay True!
Yours
House Of Noizz team.

KING DIAMOND has finally sorted out the release of his new album "Abigail, part 2 - The Revenge". The album will be released in Europe on January 28th. Just to remind you that this is another conceptual album from the king of Horror Metal and it continues the story line of the album "Abigail" (1987). Paradise Lost

PARADISE LOST are still busy writing new tracks in their studio and will hopefully be ready to record something in November. The record will be produced by John Pennington who is currently the bands 'Live' engineer. PARADISE LOST are hoping that he will be able to catch their raw live sound on CD.

MP3 clips from all three tracks of SKYCLAD's new single "SWORDS OF A THOUSAND MEN" are now available from http://www.folkmetal.com/swrdsrev.html

And one more news related to the English Folk Metal legend: SKYCLAD's ex-singer Martin Walkyier will take part in the new record of ELVENKING. He will perform some vocal parts and even write some lyrics!
All beware the ELVENKING!

Swedish melodic Death Metal band SOILWORK have started the recording of their third album with producers Devin Townsend (of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD fame) and Fredrik Nordstrom at Gothenburg’s Studio Fredman. The CD is due to be released in early 2002 through Nuclear Blast.

Vince Neil MOTLEY CRUE dismissed the rumours about former drummer Tommy Lee returning to the band. According to the official sources, there might be some negotiation in the future about Lee working together with MOTLEY CRUE, but at the moment Tommy is working with METHODS OF MAYHEM and CRUE is writing the songs for the new album.

DOWN are finally going to start recording their second album in November. The band features Phil Anselmo, Rex Brown, Kirk Windstein, Jimmy Bower and Pepper Keenan and aim to have the album ready for release by March. It’s expected to be produced by Sterling Winfield, who worked on PANTERA’s last album.

The rumours about the split of EMPEROR appeared to be no more than just a rumours. Those who spread them can kiss our asses. EMPEROR is alive and well and together with BORKNAGAR holding the split release party for their new albums in Oslo (Norway).

OK, here what's going on with the MANOWAR interview, that we promised you: just a few hours ago we get the reply from the MANOWAR camp: "Hail Max!

I'll put you on a list for interview request and get in contact with you in that period. HAIL AND KILL!!!"

In other words - patience, my friends...

Henjo Richter According to Germany's Hammer Magazine, GAMMA RAY guitarist Henjo Richter has offered to fill the vacancy in HELLOWEEN if they can't find a replacement in time for the next album.
