2004 Highlights

Our friend, Mike from Hamilton, decided to marry a sweet girl named Laura and asked us to participate in the wedding party.

It was an inspiring and heart-warming occasion, and a chance to make some new friends.

Not only did we get to sign the wedding certificates as witnessess...

... we also got to be the MCs for the reception. Everyone had a fabulous evening, and we left feeling inspired and encouraged.

For our summer vacation we descended upon Gatineau Parc in Quebec.

In addition to several deer wandering past our campsite, we spotted a variety of other wildlife.

We also derived a lot of entertainment value listening to teenage conversations and humour prior to turning in for the evening.

The park is filled with magnificent scenery...

... and alluring vistas. Our occasional attempts at trying to lose one of the kids proved unsuccessful.

When we weren't busy exploring the trails, you'd find us playing at the beach...

... and occasionally getting creative to keep warm.

The campsite was just steps away from Lac Philippe.

The lake was an awesome spot for canoeing, and a great spot for trying our skills with a couple of rented kayaks .

We organized several races, and Joanne's enthusiasm helped her come in ahead of the pack.

Our family had an exciting adventure when we went spelunking at the Lusk Caves.

These caves are formed by water as it erodes away veins of marble beneath the earth's surface. It was cold, dark and wet. At some points we were in water well over our waists and had to bend way down to navigate the passageway.

You can't leave out a visit to Parliament Hill when you're this close to Ottawa.

Getting intimate with Canadian history takes on a whole new meaning!

If only I could light the fuse to shake up this smiling troupe.

We also spent an educational day at the Museum of Civilization in Hull, Quebec.
