Many good golfers have had unorthodox swings. They look ungainly, awkward and from a distance seem to have a loop in their swing. But all have one thing in common. The back of the left hand and the palm of the right are pointing to the target. All these players will feel that the right hand is punching against the left hand at this moment of impact.
