The coordinates above are for the parking area off the west side of US 41. The area is not designated as a parking area (no signs), but is part of park property. From the parking area, proceed west on the Mountain Bike Trail. The cache is hidden off of an easily traveled path. Since this is part of a Florida State Park, you must first check-in at the ranger station at Collier-Seminole State Park. The fee for the day is $4.00.

This cache is placed on historic Old Marco Island Road which is now part of the Collier-Seminole State Park. It is a shaded 3 and 1/2 mile mountain bike/hiking trail but the cache can be found less than a quarter mile down. It is great for children and dogs. It is not too far to walk! Just remember to keep your dog on a leash as there are animals in the forest and this is a requirement of the park. You are looking for an ammo container. The old coordinates for the cache container were N25 59.900 and W081 36.091. There was a controlled burn that ate up our first cache. But if you check the message below you will see the contents of the new cache and coordinates.(N25°59.914 and W081°36.155) There are lots of fun things to do at the park. So after you find the cache enjoy the other treasures of the park. Remember to leave the park as you found it and trash in and trash out! Enjoy.
We won the first Cache as part of the 2005 Christmas N.E.E.M. Event. It had two Travel bugs, a Jax set, Cd.Case, Matchbox car, wooden puzzle, grape magnet, 2 Geocaching.com keychains donated by Lehigh Mfia and The Homing Pigeon. Rubber Ducky keychain and a Candy Cane pencil. Thanks to the N.E.E.M Team for providing us with the contents of this cache! We were disappointed when the old cache burned. See below for the contents of the new cache.

We visited the site this weekend and found all to be well. We enjoyed reading everyone logs and we were happy that so many enjoyed the walk. Cache is in great condition. We left Dead Farm bird TB that we picked up in NC and replenished a little.
