Must See Sites in Iceland

There are many terrific places to visit in Iceland.  Here I try to describe briefly some of the definite must see sites that I have visited.  Use the navigation on left to look at the Southern, Eastern, Northern, Western and Inland parts of Iceland.

There are many options for travel in Iceland.  You can plan on staying in tents the whole time, there are very many beautiful campsites all around the country.  Camping fees are moderate in most places, but you have to plan for rather cold and wet nights.  There are also several fairly inexpensive "hostels".  One of the nicest ones, Edda hotel, are not to expensive, especially for a sleeping bag accommodation (which means a bed, pillows, but no "sæng" (coverall)).
