Friday, October 3
Caveh Zahedi: Selected Works
7:30pm Coppola Theater

Caveh Zahedi is best known for his unabashedly self-centered films, his brazen indulgence in illicit behavior and his scathingly perceptive philosophical meandering. Often times for this idiosyncratic autuer all three are wrapped into a single film. His first feature, A Little Stiff (co-directed with Greg Watkins), premiered at Sundance and won widespread critical acclaim. Zahedi's second film I Don't Hate Las Vegas Anymore is an experimental documentary and winner of the Rotterdam Film Festival Critics' Award. Meanwhile his gregarious personality has landed him in several mainstream narrative films such as Waking Life (2002) and Citizen Ruth (1996). He is also director of the short In the Bathtub of the World (2002) and I Was Possessed by God (2000). His current project is entitled I Am a Sex Addict. Visit his website at www.cavehzahedi.com.

Saturday, October 4
Jay Rosenblatt: Selected Works
7:30pm Coppola Theater

Jay Rosenblatt has been working as an independent filmmaker since 1980. His films have won myriad awards and are recognized around the world for their emotional and psychological intensity. Rosenblatt’s unrelenting personal style –provocative collages comprised largely of found footage- runs the gamut from passionate and intellectual to humorous and disturbing. The complex layering of Rosenblatt’s films dramatically communicates an introspective experience that is both haunting and revealing. Among his many works are Human Remains, The Smell of Burning Ants, and King of Jews. Find out more at www.jayrosenblattfilms.com.
