Super Saiyan - This is the first stage a Saiyan reaches. The legend stated that only a true and powerful saiyan could transform into a Super Saiyan but that was not true almost every Saiyan went Super Saiyan. During this transfomation the Saiyans hair turns yellow and their eyes turn green. To reach this level a Saiyan has to have a power level of 100,000 and have to become extremly angry.
Ultra Super Saiyan - This is the stage between Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2. In this stage the Saiyan's hair stays yellow but their pupils disappear and their muscles bulk up. Even though this stage makes a Saiyan more powerful the Saiyan becomes slower. To reach this level a Saiyan must have a high power level but anger does not matter.
Super Saiyan 2 - This is actually the second stage for a Saiyan. Saiyans who transform to this level are very powerful. In this stage a Saiyan looks like a normal Super Saiyan but their hair gets a little longer and thier muscles bulk out a little. A Saiyan again uses anger to transform.
Super Saiyan 3 - This stage is the third and final stage that comes from the comic. This stage the saiyan is extremly powerful. The Saiyan grows long yellow hair and their eyebrows fade away. In order to reach this form a Saiyan must again use anger.
Super Saiyan 4 - This is the fourth form of a Saiyan only found in Dragon Ball GT. This is the most powerful stage known. The Saiyan keeps it's original hair color and they grow red fur all over their body. This form is actually a Oozaru. But instead of looking like an Oozaru the Energy is contained withen the normal Saiyan Body. This stage is reached by anger like most of the others.
