The Brooks Family

We are a small family of five.

There's dad, known to us as dad, the extended family calls him Shawn, but he usually responds to simply Brooks. Shawn has served in the military for 12 years in the Marine Corps and Army combined.
Some places we have lived are:  Ohio, Florida,  North Carolina, Germany, Maryland, Virginia and Washington.

Mom (that's me!) is, of course, the glue of the family. Holding things together when Dad is called away to his duties. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. I have worked in a few medical settings, ran a business from my home in Germany. Currently I work for a Health Care Agency in Ohio while attending college for nursing..

Christopher is the oldest son of three. He is the one who kept nagging me to homeschool. He suffered complete school burn out by the fourth grade. He likes to play soccer and baseball and his favorite learning subject is science.

Adam, our middle child, has always been very quiet and reserved until we began to homeschool. He sure can play a soccer field and likes to play all sports. Although, soccer is his favorite at this time. His interest is in science and art. If you don't find him outside playing a sport, you can find him intently drawing or making lists.

Tyler is another rising soccer star. He was born with congenital scoliosis (an abnormal curvature of the spine), but has had surgery to correct it. He is also very small. Most people didn't even know he was wearing a body cast after his surgery because of his small stature. He won't let anything slow him down. When he had gone through the rigorous 8 hour surgery, he left the hospital the very next day after being released from the intensive care unit. Tyler is also lovingly referred to as T or Tiny T).Tyler's favorite school subject is reading.
