Iowa @Missouri

December 18          Missouri  72 Iowa 61

Iowa @ Iowa St.

December 11        Iowa State 79 Iowa 66

This was a painful one.  The Hawks got off to a slow start and could never get the lead.  Iowa St. got off to an early 12-1 lead.  A big disapointment for the Hawks was Jack Jaacks he was a non factor and finshed wiht only 3 points. Dean Oliver led Iowa with 21 points. Kyle Galloway and Rob Griffin each scored 12.

Iowa @ UNI

December 7            Iowa 67   UNI 57

Hawks came back from a 46-36 UNI lead to bring home a victory Tuesday.  The bench provided the spark.  Rob Thompson had 15 on 5 for 5 shooting and Luerhsman added 10 on 4 for 4 shooting.  Jason Price did an excelent job defensivly on UNI star Robbie Severding holding him to 4 of 12 shooting.

Hawkeye Classic

December 3 and 4      Iowa 73  Texas Southern 51
                                Iowa 86  Ohio 66

A couple of blow outs here.  Hawks were just the more talented teams.  Galloway was the Tournamnet MVP.  He had combind total of 33 points.

Iowa @ Maryland

November 31          Maryland 83 Iowa 65

The Hawks ran into the wrong team Tuesday.  Maryland got off to a quick start on the Hawks in both halfs.  Marcelo Gomes started for Jaacks.  The reason being Alford is unhappy with Jaacks fouling problem.  Jaacks did see considerable minutes though.  Leading the way for iowa were Galloway and Fermino with 18 each from the bench.

Iowa @ Creighton

November 27         Creighton 85 Iowa 76

This game was the type of game Iowa couldn't play and expect to win.  The hawks big people were in foul trouble.  The foul trouble changed the complexion of the game.  It hurt Iowa on both offense and defense.  Iowa was lead by Oliver who had 19 points and 6 assists.  Griffin added 10 on 4 of 13 shooting.

Eastern Illinios @ Iowa

November 27        Iowa 95 Eastern Illinios 79

Hawks were lead by the dynamic duo of Jaacks and Oliver.  Jaacks got of to a quick start scoring 10 of Iowa’s first 11.  As Jaacks cooled down and so did the Hawks.  The Hawks took a 1-point lead into the locker room.  Iowa came out fast in the second and never looked back.  Exploiting Eastern Illinois lack of size and quickness Jaacks and Oliver carried Iowa to victory.  Jaacks finished with 29 and Oliver had 27.

Iowa V.S. Stanford

November 12         Stanford 72 Iowa 58

Stanford had the upper hand for the majority of this contest.  Iowa stayed with the Cardinals for the 1st half.  But Michael McDonald nailed a long 3 at the halftime buzzer to give Stanford a 39-31 lead.  This was about as close as the hawks were going to get.  Jaacks and Oliver had 13 a piece to lead Iowa.
