The Players and Coaches

PG  Dean Oliver
SG  Ryan Luehrsmann
SF  Rob Griffin
PF  Duez Henderson
C    Jake Jaacks

How will the season go?

I expect the hawks to finsh in the big ten.  But a tough non-conference schedule will hold the hawks to an NIT birth.

Why 6th?

The hawks will have one of the better back courts in the league with Oliver, Luehrsmann, and Griffin leading the charge and reshirt sophmore Kyle Galloway comming off the bench.

The fornt court on the other hand will be one of the leagues weakest.  Jaacks will be the center for the hawks this upcomming season.  And Duez Henderson will play the 4.  Duez might be a little overmathced physialy down in the paint.  But then again so was Ryan Bowen.  Off the bench expect Joe Fermino and Rob Tompason.  That will make the hawks one of the shorter teams in the league.  The tallest man being 6'8".

The majority scoring this season will proably come from DeanO and Griffin.  And expect it to be rebounding by commite agian this year.  The hawks half court defense should be much improved, but then again could it get much worse.  I think the defense will have more to do with the change in coaching than the change in players.  So as a team I think the hawks have less talent this year than they did last.  But I think the hawks will steadly improve.  And the program will be heading in the right direction.
