FOOD AND WATER
The food for hamsters is mainly fruit, grain, vegetables, carrots, clover, dandelions, sunflower seeds, salad, bread, scraps of fish and meat, dog biscuits and milk.
A gravity-feed demand type water bottle with a ball-valve in its metal spout is clipped on to the cage side or the roof grille to supply water to the hamsters.
Caring Tips:
Give brewster's yeast sparingly to prevent wet tails.
Buy a transparent water bottle for easier detection of dirt.
Make sure baby hamsters can reach the spout of the bottle easily.
Stand a bowl of water near the hamster cage in dry weather.
Lack of water for 24 hours in warm weather is fatal to hamsters.
Clean food and water utensils two or three times a week.
