This site has been created as a celebration/document of what are, supposedly, the best pop/rock albums of the 1990's and also 2000 and beyond. Hopefully, in time (we do have jobs you know!), Jumping Fences will broaden its scope beyond mere music lists into something stranger and possibly more sinister. Watch this space!

First off, let's get things straight, the albums listed in The 1990's Greatest 1,000 Albums section of this website do not reflect the makers of Jumping Fences' own impeccable tastes. In fact quite a portion of them make us want to chunder! Nevertheless, it goes without saying that many of them are brilliant achievements in popular music that will live on in our hearts and minds for many years to come. Corny, but true!

This list of The 1990's Greatest 1,000 Albums, for the sake of broader interest, reflects the opinions of music critics the world-over. It has been compiled, using an elaborate (and very anal!) points system, from end-of-year and end-of-decade lists from over 50 magazines and websites.

Inside, amongst other stuff, you'll find the 1990's Greatest 1,000 Albums sorted by ranking, year and artist. Additionally, for a non-critic and entirely parochial perspective, we've also included some of our own lists as an alternative to what critics think. Additionally, critics' lists and Jumping Fences' lists are included from 2000 and beyond.
