Daughter of a Gotham City detective and the superhero bombshell Black Canary, it's not surprising that Dinah followed in their foot steps. At 19, the very first time she donned her mother's costume, Dinah encountered four other vigilantes who, along with her, eventually became the founders of the Justice League of America. As the membership expanded Dinah met and fell in love with Green Arrow, Oliver Queen. She followed him to Star City for a few months and then founded the JLA's second incarnation along with Batman, J'onn Jonzz, Green Lantern, and others. Dinah later left the team to join Ollie in Seattle where they ran a florist shop and let their secret identities slip. In a tragic encounter with a torturer Dinah lost her meta-human "canary cry" and possibly the ability to have children. She threw herself into her crime fighting and, during a period of Ollie's absence, reinvented herself. Her relationship with Ollie had always been rocky and he was less than faithful. With her new found sense of self confidence Dinah realized that she could no longer maintain the relationship and left him. Following the break-up her florist shop burned down, releasing her of any connection to the past. After a few rocky adventures and some poor judgement with the Ray II Dinah's life was in tatters. She was at a low point when she heard news of Oliver's death. Dinah was out of luck and money when she was contacted by Oracle, who was seeking someone to work with. Oracle had suffered much herself and she helped Dinah regain her status as a superhero. The two are still working together and Dinah is a founding and active member of the current incarnation of the JSA. Bio by RavenChyld
