After spending five days out at the farm, we returned to Kathmandu for our last two days in Nepal. This capital city is full old temples, shrine, and buildings. Intricate woodwork can be found not only on large, imposing structures such as this, but also on smaller, run-down buildings in small alleys. | ||
Durbar Square is a popular place for visitors. In the square are a couple of pyramidal structures. Having climbed to the top of one, Stephanie takes a moment to look out upon all the activities going on below. | ||
Merchants sit on the floors of their small shops, waiting for customers to make a sale. | ||
The life of Kathmandu is blended between ancient sites and searching tourists, and people going about their everyday business. | ||
Amid all the hustle and bustle, Kathmandu still has an aura of serene calm. | ||
Bhimsen Tower was so tall that I had to take two photos and stitch them together. | ||
This is the Shiva-Parvati temple at Durbar Square. If you look closely, you can see two figurines staring back at you. | ||
At last, the sun sets upon the distinctive Kathmandu skyline. And we journey back home . . . |
