Part 4: Sun House |
||
| Not far from the cave house, a walkway leads around the corner, into the sunshine, and up to another building, called the "sun house". In stark contrast to the cave house, the sun house sports a translucent roof, which allows ample sunlight to penetrate inside. This house quickly heats up, absorbing the sun's heat, which is held in by thick walls, so that the nights are not too cool. | ||
| The interior is quite simple, with a few beds, a small loft, and a place to eat a meal. The bathroom is hidden away in the back of this photo. | ||
| The roof is partially covered with a latticework. In the summertime it supports climbing plants, in order to shade the house and prevent overheating. |
