Real life wank: idiocy on the air
With the above subject, I'm of course typing about the radio prank incident that occurred earlier this month. Besides the crudeness of the 'joke' (which I found not funny...but I'll admit my taste in humor is usually animated and not based on racist comments ^^;) I feel that the supporters of the radio djs are very unconvincing and are making idiots of themselves. Cursing at Asians and stating 'get a life,' and throwing 'freedom of speech' around in CAPITALS on the net is not a logical way of making an argument.
This is stupidity, but the actual wank I would like refer to is the statement that the dj made. He is a major supporter for Asian rights, donating money to Asian communities and most of all (this is a major point he wants to make,) he is married to an Asian American. O.o Oh...so being married to an Asian gives him the okay to make fun of Asians. Well...then my Asian friends with black boyfriends should be able to make fun of blacks too, right? No wait, they have to be married in order to achieve that 'right'. *major sarcasm*
Of course, this gets even wankier when the Asian wife steps in. As a good wife, she stands beside her man and proclaims at how 'ashamed' she is of being a part of the Asian commmunity. X.X I guess they make a perfect match since both have the intelligence level of a preschooler. *headdesk* (Why preschooler? Only preschoolers-where the word 'butt' sends them into giggles-would find the joke funny. Also, I'm feeling generous.) I doubt they had any sort of education. If they did, they're not using it. If you insult anyone anywhere, expect to get backlash from said person.
There was a rally at city hall last friday. Unfortunately, (or fortunately since I needed sleep, ^^;) I had my day off and didn't go. Of course, many people from the center went. I got the 411 about what happened so that's why I'm commenting about this now. Otherwise, I admit I'm still pretty ignorant about these things. ^^; Yay for my job!

kimono and sakuras in the city
It's been awhile since my last update, but nothing much has been going on since I've been catching up with people and looking forward to today. I went with Charlie Brown to BBG, met CCF crew there and had a nice relaxing afternoon. Saw a Naruto cosplay group and caught an FMA military duo (with the girl in the miniskirt.) I got mistaken as a 'performer' on the way in, but that is understandable since I was wearing a kimono. ^.^ Yes, I wore my kimono into the city, through the LIRR and on the subway. Got a couple of stares but nothing derogatory or obscene which was nice for a change. Unfortunately, the sakura trees weren't in as full a bloom as last year, but we still got some nice pics. (CB and CCF crew took the pics...which will be e-mailed to me at a later time. ^-^)
CB and I left the CCF crew and headed to Chinatown for some much needed nutritional substances. After hitting a noodle place, we went to a bubble tea place for tea and dessert (for me since Charlie Brown was full. ^.^) P-chan met up with us there and we walked to South Street for some browsing. FYI, don't ever take pics in the Abe&Fitch store since it's not allowed. No other comment. ^^; I got mistaken for a Japanese at this time (yay!) when a white dude started talking Japanese to me. I was embarrassed (and ashamed) to admit I wasn't Japanese and was still learning the language. (Damn, I'm sooo bad with languages. >.<;)
140 met up with us at South Street with a gift: a small bag to match my kimono. For me, she went from South Street to Chinatown and back to South Street.... Arigato, 140! ^.^ P-chan, CB and I went back to Chinatown for dinner, but before that, CB and I hit the arcade where he proceeded to relive his childhood and I stared at some awesome DDR players. O.O JC has nothing on these guys. ^^;
Omedatou, Charlie Brown!
After noticing a ring on his left ring finger, it was confirmed that CB is engaged. O.o Don't think he wants an internet announcement, but ppl who know who CB is already knows about the engagement, otherwise, just keep moving.... ^.^
Wedding is coming up pretty quickly too which will take place in China. P-chan and I hope to take him out for a celebration soon. We'll see what happens next week. ^-^

Arts and craft...at work
The director of the center is leaving and the goodbye party is tomorrow. Since its a lavish affair, I'm assisting with the gifts given on behalf of everyone: meaning a kawaii-director t-shirt and a scrapbook poster/thingee. Both items will be signed by everyone. I finished drawing the kawaii-director on the shirt last week and almost everyone signed it already. The pics for the scrapbook poster/thingee was printed out today. The scrapbook itself is suppose to be for all the guests to sign (at the party) so I just need to work on it at work tomorrow....
Good thing my single appt. for tomorrow was cancelled so I can concentrate on this. ^^; I've been busy lately because of this. Can you say 'overtime'? But it's fun too. ^-^ Oh yeah, whether the scrapbook will actually BE a scrapbook or a picture-filled poster-type thingee...will be decided tomorrow. Of course, the scrapbook is $$ and a poster is $. I already have materials for both so I'll let fiscal decide. ^^;
sakura saturday
Due to my 'work' related stuff, I didn't have time to look at the BBG sakura festival info. I'll look at it tomorrow once I'm done with the aforementioned task. ^.^ Besides that, after mentioning that I'll be dressed in my kimono on saturday, I discovered that my friend Charlie Brown is allergic to kimonos.... ^.^
Oh yeah, I found my college ID card so I can get student discount. Yay! ^.^ It wasn't really missing...I just placed it somewhere where I couldn't find it. ^^;

Trying too hard....
After writing my yaoi lemon, I've been working on a hentai. However, I think the lack of inspiration is getting to me and I'm coming up with nothing good. *sigh* I'll continue to work on it, but it's pretty hard for the obvious reasons. ^^;
Cosplay photography?
Last year's photoshoot fell through and I wasn't able to have good pics of my Asuca Hayashi cosplay. Sooo...since the weather has turned ultra nice, I hope to do one in early May (or maybe even next week?) The location is 'where I live.' (If you know me, you'll know where I live.... ^^;) More info below (copy/paste from last year's photographer request. ^.^)

clarification...
P-chan inquired about me being 'amused' in my previous post as I was writing about the Viginia Tech shootings. To clarify, I was amused over the idiocy of the gamer critic's statement that the insanity of the single dude was induced by games. <.<; I'm not laughing about the shooting itself.... As much as I hate to admit it, I'm not that evil. ^^;
pics update...or lack thereof
After sorting through my I-con cosplay pics, I decided not to post any up since I couldn't find many pictures worth posting...or any pics for the matter. There were a couple interesting ones that I may just place on a separate page of misc. cosplays, but there are not enough pics for a decent gallery.
Also, I took down the Halloween pics from 2 years ago. Wonderful as the pics are, since everyone who needs to see them has gotten the opportunity to see them so there is no need to keep them on any longer. ^.^

yeah, it was the video games....
Video game critic, John Thompson blames video games for the Virgina Tech shootings. O.o It was discovered that the dude played 'Counterstrike'. Okay, that means NY is in danger because the majority of Asians plays 'Counterstrike'. Not to mention my church and their obsession with 'Halo'. (My co-worker's comment to that was 'But there are no intergalatic weapons available.' I replied, 'But there are still sniper rifles.' ^-^)
Since I love playing 'Kingdom Hearts,' I just got an image of me swinging my keyblade around hitting everyone.... Though, I don't have a keyblade and making one is kinda tough. ^.^; My co-worker likes to play 'Grand Theft Auto' so he will be hitting people with his car for 100 points. Yay for gamers!

Square Enix/FF ripoff lawsuit
Last month, I posted about an MV by a Korean singer that basically rips off from a scene in the movie, Final Fantasy: Advent Children. As a follw-up post, it has been confirmed on this site that the video has been banned in Korea (and assumably Japan.) The motives of the director of the MV are of course unknown, and I still don't know if money was involved with this lawsuit. I'll like to mention that one of the charges SE brought up against the MV include 'defamation of character.' They thought it was that bad, huh? ^^;

Movie, manga and mushrooms.... ^-^
I watched 'Meet the Robinsons' with my godsisters today. It was in 3-D. *.* They didn't really utilize the fullness of the 3-D animation, but what I saw was pretty cool. I had hoped the story wouldn't be as transparent as it was, the main character knowing a 'hint' of the future rather than all would be alot better...but perhaps younger kids would not get it. ^^; Anyway, I enjoyed the dinosaur part the best. ^.^
After hanging out at Sago for about 2 hours, Theresa-neechan and I went to Kismet bookstore. After discovering the yaoi section, we searched for a another 2 hours. 5 for $10! O.O They had alot of Japanese manga. I found 'Dear Myself' by Eiki Eiki in Chinese, but I didn't buy it. ^^; Theresa-neechan bought alot of mangas, including 'Dear Myself'. We spent the rest of the day and evening discussing yaoi and rpgs.
Even though Theresa-neechan got the latest EGM, it is still uncertain if 'Mushroom Kingdom Hearts' is for real or not. ^^;

First yaoi! First lemon!
In response to a contest challenge on a yaoi forum, I wrote a short story based on the given quote: 'Sex is a two-way treat' by Franklin P. Jones. However, I didn't submit the story but submitted something else I wrote afterwards. (Hence, that is why I'm up so late at night.... ^^;) I wrote a sex scene before, but no one ever got to read it. (My first lemon has long been deleted. It was an offshoot of one of my other stories, but since I don't write lemons in general, I took it out. ^^;) That one is not as explicit as this story.... ^^; This is my first yaoi story. In comparison to other stories, this is not that explicit, but since this is my first one.... Ano.... *blushes* I posted it in the vice section with the necessary warnings. Please give me comments and critisms about it. This story is completely not depressing and is totally different from anything else I've written. Hope you can enjoy it! *hides*
Personal comment about story
Besides being the first yaoi lemon I ever wrote, this is also the first story I wrote in a looooong time based on nothing but pure inspiration. Of course, being a yaoi lemon, I have no personal experiences in this (afterall, I'm female. ^^;) I mention this because I initially wrote stories based on impulse and whatever inspired me. Than, there was a period of time where I would write based on my feelings and thoughts that happened in RL. Since this is yaoi, I couldn't think of anything but the interactions between the two characters. This made the story easier to write (and fun too! ^.^) even though the descriptions of sex was kinda hard to explain. ^^; I don't know if I will write another yaoi original.
In a previous post, I mentioned that I was working on another story that is totally different from anything I ever wrote.... This isn't the story (since the contest challenge only came up recently.) But the main thing about the one I'm still working on is that it's also a lemon...but it's hentai (male with female.) I just happen to finish writing a PWP yaoi lemon before my PWP hentai. ^-^ I won't say much else about it since I'm still working on it. I don't know if I'll ever finish it and will I post it. We'll see when the time comes. ^^;

Unobtainable music
I spent much of last night trying to locate some piano pieces from Ouran. Besides the Mozart Sonata duet piece which is not on the OSTs, there are also some pieces from the last couple of episodes that were not placed on any albums. *sigh* Why do they do that? *cries* Anyway, I was happy to find some the sheet music that Tamaki played on piano in Kyouya's flash back in ep. 24 as well as for Eclair in ep. 25. Yay for transcriptions! Even though the series is over, perhaps they'll place the remaining songs on the drama cd? Some animes do that.... ^^; (Hoping to find some songs in future Loveless drama cds that aren't in any OSTs. ^-^)
An awesome fan contacted the composer for the music of the series, Yoshihisa Hirano-san.... O.O
Everyone wants to know this. Some people even made the assumption that it was a Chopin piece due to similarities. I agree the styles were similar, but it was definately not Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op 9, No 2 as someone posted on Wikipedia. So I went and wrote the music director Yoshihisa Hirano for some answers and this is the reply I recieved:
Actually, the piece you are curious about is NOT one of Chopin's Nocturnes. That is my own composition in Chopin style! I composed music to the "Ouran series" under the idea of "parody of classical music in the different periods". That is to say, I applied different compositional styles and techniques of classical music to write music to "Ouran". So I understand that some people believe that piano piece is one of Chopin. Because it is certainly composed in Chopin style.
I needed to compose the elegant, and sad piece that expresses the unhappy background of Tamaki, who always behaves artlessly. And as long as he plays it on the piano, I thought the piece must sound just like a composition of the romanticist. (It is obviously ridiculous if Tamaki played a pop song-like-music to express himself as he is.)
Well, I indeed want all the audience to know that piece is my own composition applying Chopinistic musical language although I consider that is a kind of my musical jeux.
Actually, it is untitled. I entitle pieces on a soundtrack CD, but unfortunately that piece was composed and recorded just for the episodes 24,25 and 26 AFTER the Ouran sound track CD was out. Thus I didn't get a chance to entitle it.... What a shame!
Hope that clears it up! I'm a bit sad that it most likely won't ever be available, but who knows. Maybe it'll appear in an anniversary CD, or in the extras section of the DVD release.
~Yvonne from For Richer or Poorer forum
*_* In Chopin style.... *is amazed* The poster is awesome for contacting the composer in Japanese...and super awesome for clearing up this issue. Until our dream comes true for the pieces to appear on cd, I will settle for playing them on the piano. *starts printing*

I met Theresa-neechan and Christine-neechan in our usual spot and we went to dinner at a HK cafe. Turns out, P-chan and Pearl-chan was at the cafe as well. ^.^ For the record, they saw me first because I was just going to my table. Hugs all around of course. ^-^ P-chan just got her haircut this afternoon...kawaii! After intros, we sat separately and ate. The Japanese pancake was yummy, but it was definitely not okinomiyaki. Perhaps HK styled Japanese pancake? The mayo was a nice touch. *spreads mayo on everything* ^^;
Oneechanx2 went over their Japan trip, highlighting the lack of garbage cans in the area, the over-trafficked Shinjuku and of course the ultra-clean and super hightech toilets. ^.^ They went to Hello Kitty land as well as Disneyland. Kiki and Lala was there! (BTW, Kiki and Lala are the Twin Stars. ^.^) They danced first. Kawaii! Of course, Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel was present among dozens of other Sanrio characters. *sigh* I loved the pics of Hello Kitty's house. That is where I want to live someday! ^_^
Oneechanx2 brought me some showergel (from the Dead Sea) and lotion from Bath and Body. Ano, these weren't from Japan, but the Hello Kitty cellphone dangly was. ^.^ Arigato, oneechan!
Theresa-neechan gets EGM every month. The next issue should arrive around April 15. Then, we'll find out if 'Mushroom Kingdom Hearts' is fake or not. Oneechan is hoping that it is a joke. I'm just wondering if I'll be able to stomach it if it is actually true. However, since there aren't any other outrageous news, this one is the highest candidate for EGM's 2007 April Fools joke.

April Fooled?: Wii wank
If you read my last post, you would have read about the game collaboration of Nintendo and Disney, 'Mushroom Kingdom Hearts'. Well, Theresa-neechan said ppl initially thought it was joke, but it was found to be true...but I haven't been able to verify it yet. While trying to find more info about the game, I discovered that the game will be for the Wii platform and it was announced in EGM's (gaming mag) April issue (that subscribers get in March.) It might just be their annual April Fool's joke. This wii blog features a heated discussion about the validity of the article and the possibility of the game coming out. Whether true or not, I still think the concept is hilarious and I feel that ppl should be carefully playing the game on the Wii if it's still the hit and go action in KH games. Swinging that controller around like a keyblade...I wonder how will they do special attacks? Sample pic and basic info featured in joystiq site.
So...is KHII:FM really coming to the U.S.? *waits impatiently*

Gospel Camp 2007 - Highlights
When the bus made the final turn onto the road of the camp area, it got stuck with the back wheel in midair. So, we got off and walked about 10 min. to the main site. In the dark. With flashlights. ^.^ Of course, before we left the bus, CCF immortalized the moment with a dozen of pics while standing next to the wheel in question. ^^;
So many different games.... the first one was to create a giant wheel out of newspaper. The size of the wheel must be large enough to fit the entire group (my group) standing up with the 'wheel' upright. Than we had to walk across the room. Ano...just picture a tank wheel: we were the gears. lol Our 'wheel' fell apart in the last moment of the race. Another game.... How many guys does it take to pick up Rai? Two. They had to lift me up and over a rope. ^^; Ano, this is not the first time we have these kinds of games. I think I'm going to work out in order to make it easier on my group members. ^^;
Sleeping hilarity: one of the guys (male) in my group talked about what happened one night (during camp of course....) BTW, our dorms had bunkbeds and double beds. Paraphrasing (with names withheld for privacy: ^^;)
Guy A: I was suppose to sleep in the double bed with B. I got to the room first so I fell asleep. C came in to visit B, but he wasn't back yet. Somehow, he fell asleep on the bed (next to me) while waiting for B to come back. Eventually, B came back and went to sleep too. I woke up in dark and found myself between two guys. I turned to B and asked, 'Who is this?' while pointing a C. B replied, 'This is A....' I stopped and thought, 'Wait, if this is A, then who am I?!?'
The second night there, some of us decided to go stargazing. Except, we wanted to hike up a mountain trail to look at the stars. In the middle of the night. O.o Feeling adventurous, we grabbed flashlights and went on our way. Three of the guys had just started eating their instant noodles, so they were munching on it part of way to the beginning of the mountain trail. (Of course, I had my noodles already. ^-^) The trail was slippery with leaves, rocky and sometimes dangerous. But it was tons of fun and no one got hurt. ^.^ When we got to the top, we sang and took pictures. We took our time getting down the mountain. (I spent a good portion of the way down sitting and inching forward...I didn't wear sneakers and my shoes had next to zero traction. >.<;) We were very supportive of each other and even though it was not that smart of an idea (kinda risky to say the least,) I'm still glad we did it. It was an awesome experience. ^.^
As usual, there will most likely NOT be pics of the camp. Photo-wise, I am still looking for good pics to post of I-Con, so that may take awhile. ^.^ For now, I must sleep. Must wake extra early tomorrow so that I can head to the office and run to an appt.... Oyasumi!
