OMGOMGOMG! *hugs P-chan and Pearl-chan*

*breathes slowly* P-chan is stressed over the exam-which-shall-not-be-named, Pearl-chan is depressed over her seriously ill pet and I'm sad over stupid-thoughts-which-I-will-not-type-about-online. Due to our personal issues, we decided to gather together in Qns and talk about our issues over Korean bbq. Although we didn't talk that deeply, it was a nice opportunity to be able to get together again since I rarely come out to Qns.

P-chan had a secret all day which only Pearl-chan knew. First, okaasan (who went to Qns to see the doctor) went to P-chan's house to pick up 'the package' (which she referred to in her e-mail to me.) I had no idea what 'the package' was. Okaasan didn't either but was instructed to keep it out of the sun, don't keep in the car, etc. Pearl-chan had the 'other half' of 'the package' which she brought to dinner tonight. P-chan made me turn away as she slipped the 'other half' into my bag. I opened up both packages when I got home.

O.O

I opened the 'other half' first which was in a small black bag. Jump Ultimate Stars for Nintendo DS. Me: O.O No way...she couldn't have.... *grabbed scissors, opened the amazon.com box, cut away the Lovely White wrapping paper....* Me: No way, no way.... O.O OMG! P-chan got me the black Nintendo DSlite!

I apologize to P-chan for fangirling on the phone and squealing. Too excited. ^^; Spent the next 15 min. staring at the pretty case before realizing that I needed to charge it before I could do anything else. ^^; Any new games I plan to buy? Perhaps Cooking Mama or Mario Bros (where Mario can turn gigantic) and most likely FFIII and/or Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. Arigato, P-chan! *hugs*

Caution: confusion ahead

I'm finding myself caught up in my thoughts moreso then usual. Unfortunately, they're not that pleasant and besides the physical drain, I feel very down emotionally. To amity and co., I'm not sinking back into the dark, but the stress I'm feeling is making my chest and head hurt.

This time it's not work that is stressing me out, and I truly prefer stress induced by outer influences rather than my own. If people ask why I'm down, I have a vague idea, but not enough to type it here or mention it aloud. Maybe once I get my gallery up, I'll feel better. But I keep on wanting to sleep earlier...but I'm not actually falling asleep that quickly. *sigh* I apologize for this delay and I hope this passes soon.

nevermind

I'm not posting any pics tonight since I'm super tired and have been for quite some time. Anzhypergirl from my previous church came to Stony after her shopping expedition at Tanger Outlet. She came with her guy friend and we went to Olive Garden to eat and caught up on each other's lives. (Nothing new from my side though....) She also bought me lindt truffles. (White chocolate, because I asked her to. ^.^) Arigato, Aznhypergirl!

Thinking it over, I'm being unrealistic in thinking that I'll be able to plan a cosplay photoshoot before mid-September. So that'll be on hold (again.) *sigh* There is too much going on (as usual) and I'm not feeling very well lately. Nothing serious but I think I need to really rest since I've been stressed out from work and haven't gotten a day where I can do 'nothing' and just relax. It's taking a toll on my concentration as well as my patience. So I'm going to rest now. Oyasumi!

*running around*

I'm off to Chinatown today to attend my co-worker's OCM concert. As some of you may have figured out, I didn't have dinner with my godsisters since my condition was to finish my Otakon gallery first...which is obviously not finished yet. ^^;

Calling all photographers (again)

It's nearing the end of summer and I'm hoping to get one photoshoot in before mid-September. The location will be at SBU and I'm planning to have two outfits. Please contact me through form below if you're interested in earning $10 an hour. Travel expense will be covered. *waits*

Estimated delivery date....

Don't worry! I haven't forgotten my Otakon gallery. Working on it as we speak as well as brainstorming on how to get better comment boxes onto my site. *points at P-chan's comment* ^.^ I plan to get the gallery up by this sunday. Meaning, I might be up until midnight/monday morning working on it so I can deliver on this promise. ^^; Hopefully not....

Enjoying the peace of no major activities and hoping to get more sleep in as well. My face is bearing the blunt of my little-to-no-sleep nights with a shower of pimples. It is NOT pretty. *hides*

Upcoming plans

If I do get my gallery up before Friday (which is a BIG 'if',) I want to schedule to meet my godsisters for our 'every once in awhile' dinner. Also, there is a Christian concert going on in Chinatown on Saturday night. The main language of the evening will be Canto and one of my co-workers will be in it. I'm going and am hoping to be in Chinatown with enough time for a light snack before the concert. *dreams of buo gei* *drools*

I have more manga!

My Earthian came over the weekend. ^.^ It has color pics in the front AND in the middle. Since they are used, there is a black marker line drawn on one edge on each of the books. However, the books are in good condition. *hugs books* I have went above and beyond my usual manga budget, so no more shopping for awhile. ^^;

anime weekend

I'm back from the 3 day retreat with New Life Church. People from CCGC also went. Since Cartoon Network had Naruto Hundo (100 episode marathon) from Friday to Sunday, I watched Naruto every chance I got. ^.^ The fight between Rock Lee and Gaara at the Chunin exams was awesome and sad. The scene of Kakashi sealing Sasuke's curse was total eye candy. Sasuke had no shirt on! *drools* Naruto trying to summon a frog but ended up with tadpoles is hilarious. Paraphrasing Naruto: 'Look, pervy sage! He has legs!' roflol I said exactly the same thing.... Of course, the anime went into depression afterwards with the Sand village attacking. Also, Gaara's past is so sad. *hugs Gaara* There was the showdown between the Hokage and Orochimaru. I saw the results of that this morning. *cries*

Of course, I watched other anime too. I caught two episodes of Inuyasha on Friday night. They were the ones where the Band of Seven is fighting Koga and the 'doctor' attacks his village. Funny moment was when Miroku keeps on trying to touch Sango's butt, but the barrier keeps on stopping him. Also, the Kikyo moments in the anime were very nice. ^.^ Last night I watched Bleach (flashback of Soul Reaper Academy and their first hollow attack,) Blood+ (ep. 22 'The Zoo') and Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig (flashback of Saito's first meeting with the Major.)

Since I also have anime on my mp4 player, I was happily saturated with anime throughout the weekend. Of course, I also went out and took in the beautiful mountain air. I'll post pics once I get them from my friends. ^-^

Thoughts on the retreat

lol I wrote so much about anime. The retreat itself was alright. It wasn't fantastic and it wasn't amazingly bad. The location was the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa which is...basically a hotel. (Larger then the hotel that TARCQ usually goes to for winter retreats. ^.^) Due to traffic, we arrived at the hotel late on friday night. I bought some food from the bar (which was the only place open at 11am) and ate while having an impromtu meeting with pastor and friends from CCGC. BBQ chicken and flat bread with sour cream is a pretty good combo. ^^; The meeting lasted until after 1am. *yawns* I was tired then and I'm tired now....

I haven't been at a retreat with adult-type adults in awhile. New Life Church is like TARCQ in that aspect. CCGC is mostly university students and young professionals/young married couples...not really families with children. I anticipated them looking at us (CCGC and crew) as children and I was correct. Them: "You're going downstairs? By yourself?" Me: "Yes, I can go by myself. *under breath* I'm 24 already...." <.<; They didn't belittle us, but there were moments where I thought 'I'm also an adult!' *headdesk*

The speaker was my current pastor and the topic was love in relation to God and Man. This is New Life Church's annual retreat and I didn't have much expectation from it. The worship and activities would be led by adults and I knew they weren't going to be spectacular. I don't have much expectation from mid-age adults. ^^; They even had group discussions about 'Menopause and Mid-life crisis.' (I took a Naruto break at that time. ^^;)

I took this weekend as a time of rest and so I enjoyed myself in that respect. Ano, not everyone from CCGC anticipated as such so they were kinda disappointed. I'll admit that I was too but oh well.... *shrugs* Dissatisfaction stemmed also from the congregation itself. New Life Church is very liberal in their words and thoughts. Based on whatever reason (status, influence, money,) they're also very stubborn. (Hm...starting to sound like another church I know....) In all honesty, I don't really care how they organize their retreat. It's for them, not for us. *ends subject*

Anti-parents Rant

I have reached a point where if an important issue comes where my choice clashes with the thoughts of parents, I do what I want. That is the person I have become now. I'll state it now that I really dislike the influence parents have over their children who have already become adults. I really dislike the efforts to appease parents over things that they shouldn't have any control over at this point. I'm referring to who a person should like/girlfriend/boyfriend and anything that it entails.

Why bring this up? A guy from my church is getting married in Taiwan in November. He wants a Christian wedding. His mother (who is of course NOT the bride) wants a traditional wedding. I feel (though it isn't even my place to say) is that if he wants a Christian wedding, then he should just go for it. It isn't his mother's wedding. If the bride wanted a traditional wedding, that is a different story, but the case is, the Christian wedding is called off because the mother does not like it. *headdesk*

I know that those who are really close to their parents seek approval in their choices. Also, I know that when the approval is not found, they are ultimately rejected and put under alot of pressure. I extremely dislike this situation. Parents should not subject their children who are also adults under so much external pressure. It still happens, but I don't like it. The sense of 'obligation', 'respect' and 'honor' towards parents are lost on me. I respect my parents, but I don't feel obligated to make them happy.

I e-mailed the guy in Taiwan that if he wants to have a Christian wedding he should do it. I also added that he may also consider having both a Christian and a traditional wedding if it makes his mother happy. He shouldn't give up something just because someone else doesn't like it.

manga = love

I've spent most of my evenings (after going through thousands of Otakon pics) reading vol 2 and 3 of the Finder series as well as vol 6 of Loveless. Waiting on vol 3 was very good. Vol 2 had the backstory of Asami and Fei Long and vol 3 went back to the main story of Akihito and Asami. Vol 3 had smex EVERYWHERE. *evil grin* It ends the volume with a cliffhanger which kills me, but I truly enjoy the extra stories. The 'Baked Sweet Glasses' short was hilarious. Kinda reminds me of 'Sweet' by Minami Haruka. ^.^ Whipped cream...yummy.... I'll never look at dessert the same way again. *faints*

Loveless vol 6 was kinda sad for me. I knew what was going to happen, but reading it and seeing Soubi's expressions were heart wrenching. *hugs Soubi-san*

My Earthian manga still hasn't come yet. I bought the set from two different sellers. Hopefully, I'll get it by tomorrow before I leave for the church retreat for the weekend. (I'll be gone from tomorrow afternoon until Sunday evening.)

I got it!!!

Pearl-chan's order came through and okaasan already picked up vol. 2 of the Finder series from her! *dances around the office* I'm soooo happy. When Pearl-chan called and told me that the manga arrived, I was literally jumping around the apartment. There are two sellers on eBay that are selling book 2 and book 1 with 2. I don't know how high the bidding will go, but if the manga hadn't came, I would have stayed ultra late at the office just so I could bid. But it came! *hugs Pearl-chan* I can't wait to read 'Cage in the Finder' tonight. *grins*

I also picked up Loveless vol. 6 today at Borders. I made sure that it had a color page in the front before I bought it. It totally cheered me up since my morning was kinda stressful with a client. Of course, I had a 20% coupon. ^-^ Now if only my Earthian books will come....

semi-rant: office stress

I'm taking a break from convention pics today. There is too much going on at work...and it's not really client related. One of our staff decided to leave today. More like, he decided to leave yesterday and today was his last day. No two weeks notice. Although it seems to be not a professional move (leaving so abruptly,) but it's not my place to say. He made his decision after much thought and I (as friend and co-worker) can only support him. He was one of our newer staff (been here less then a year,) and during the 'downsizing' week, we all anticipated his leaving. However, he wasn't the one fired. Still, the entire ordeal was stressful on senior staff as well as those who thought they were being let go (him.) As many have mentioned, the morale in our center has dropped. We're all working as hard as ever for clients, but the instability is getting to everyone. Weeks later, we're still feeling the nervousness in the air. So, not that I need to understand, I comprehend his unhappiness and reason for leaving.

As P-chan mentioned to me, all businesses go through downsizing (I'm starting to really dislike this word.) My center just handled it really badly. For a social service agency and those who worked in regular companies before have pointed out that the process taken was one of the worse ever. Thinking that you'll be cut off but end up staying, being angry at upper management at stupid decisions, low pay and work inflexibility (another point that I never thought would be occuring at the center...etc) under those conditions did he leave so quickly. I'm sad and it's affecting my attention span. I wish I wasn't so transparent. My co-workers (even the male ones) know how upset I am. I'm glad that they're there so we can continue to support each other. No company and system is perfect. I just wish that this period will quickly pass so I can go back to enjoying my work. >.<;

More manga on the way

I haven't heard anything from Pearl-chan yet considering my Finders manga. Hopefully it gets here soon.... I ordered all 4 books of Earthian today. ^-^ Earthian is by mangaka Kouga Yun-sensei, the same mangaka of Loveless. I love her artwork. ^-^ Her other manga Gestalt is also good, but it has not been translated in the US. Maybe I should get it from Taiwan? I also ordered the manga series Night Head Genesis from my father who is in Taiwan currently. The artwork is done by Tateno Makoto-sensei, one of my fav BL mangaka. ^.^ There are 8 vol...hopefully someone from Taiwan will bring them to me soon. Lastly, my previous co-worker will be bringing vol. 16 of Fullmetal Alchemist from her visit to Taiwan. She will be back at the end of the month so that will be when I get the manga (hopefully.) ^-^

Even with so much manga, the one I'm longing for the most is still vol. 2 of the Finders series. Hiyaku, Pearl-chan! ^.^

Today's bbq was yummy...though kinda on the slow side with very few ppl. (With the work issues that were/are going on, it's no wonder. I'm not surprised, just kinda disappointed.) My co-worker picked me up in Flushing and I rode in the back with her daughter, Nicole (3 years old?) I spent the carride to NJ making sound effects and playing with Nicole. Kawaii! ^.^ My co-worker made a comment that she was driving 2 kids to the bbq, me being one of them. ^^; We picked up one of the male co-workers in Chinatown and Nicole really warmed up to him at the bbq. It certainly showed when on the way home, she continuously referred to him as 'dai fei lo.' O.o lol I tried to distract her but it didn't work. ^^;

Wii was the game of the day and Nicole and another child played it. It was hilarious watching them run around the room waving the wiimote around. ^-^ I think Nicole played beter when she was running around rather then just standing and swinging. ^^;

AnimeNEXT amvs...a year later

Last year, there was this amv that I wanted to find, but couldn't. Until today. Since I'm so happy to have found it, I thought I'll share with anyone who cares. Or who don't care, whomever comes first. ^.^

    The Digital Resistance to Innocence - Serial Experiments Lain ~ Winner in Drama category. Awesome clips and perfect music to match. It was my fav at the convention last year. ^.^ (Um...caution while watching, the flashing lights and changing scenes might cause seizures...or something. ^^;)

    Kingdom Cross - Kingdom Hearts ~ Honorable Mention in Action category. Also a wonderful amv, and surprising, it's the first amv the person ever made. O.o

so hot....

I bought Hello Kitty pillow speakers and a Hello Kitty cup for my friend's b-day. As you can deduct from my choice of gifts, she likes Hello Kitty. ^.^ Today was hot. As soon as I got off the bus, I bought milk tea and then dropped off Alby-kun's Death Note dvds (his AnimeNEXT souvenirs ^^;) with his mother (who works in Flushing.) After putting together the b-day gift, I headed to my usual manga place. Afterwards, I considered going to Book Off, but decided against it. I was already sweating like crazy and I was dehyrated (from all the sweating. ^^;)

I replenished my water content at my office and had a cereal brunch. FYI, the b-day party-wine and cheese affair-was actually a fundraiser for my center. Instead of giving gifts, her friends would donate to the center. It is something only this previous co-worker (my friend) would do. ^-^ So, me and my co-worker picked up a bunch of donation envelopes and left for the party.

non-alcoholic please

The chedder cheese was yummy, but my fav was the guacamole dip made by the b-day girl's friend. (The dip was actually a 'mix' from Trader's Joe which had everything you need. Hm...maybe I can make yummy guacamole too. ^.^) There was red and white wine as well as San Pelligrino. Of course, I had the Pelligrino. ^.^ Two other co-workers were there with me and I saw another girl who also used to work at my office. (The rooftop, midtown, waterfront location of the party was actually hers and her rich boyfriend. O.o I need to get me one of those....j/k. ^^;) It was great seeing them again.

I met some of the b-day girl's friends before and we struck up a convo about my fav subject, anime. ^-^ I don't know if it is a bad thing or a good thing that I'm remembered by "we talked about Fullmetal Alchemist last time". ^^; lol Another one of the b-day girl's friends actually had 2 tickets to a K-pop concert in midtown tomorrow to sell/give. P-chan didn't want to/didn't have time. ^^; The friend who was giving the tickets mentioned that if it was Rain (K-pop star,) then she would definitely go. I told her that my friend was also a Rain fan (though P-chan mentioned that she has moved on to another Korean star. ^.^)

Donation-wise, her friends are VERY generous. She raised a surprising amount. Even though she'll never read this, arigato to the b-day girl. ^.^

tomorrow's plans

There will be a bbq at one of the higher up's house in NJ tomorrow. One of my co-worker will be picking me up at Flushing in the afternoon and we'll drive to NJ. Maybe I'll head over to my usual manga stores before the pick up. ^.^ Bubble tea /w pudding is also a good idea...I hear it will also be hot tomorrow. ^^;

drabble post

Since this is drabble, I'm not going to bother placing it on the vice page. The inspiration for this piece comes from the seiyuu, Noto Mamiko-san. She voiced both Ion Fortuna in Trinity Blood as well as Aoyagi Ritsuka in Loveless. Besides the appearance of both characters as young boys, the two characters also share the feelings of betrayal and loss. Of course, the two are fundamentally different. This was just the basis of my inspiration. ^-^

    I don't know if I can trust you. But inside, I still desire you. Your companionship and warmth. In truth, I don't want to be alone.

    If you love me, don't leave me behind. Always stay by my side. Trust me as I trust you. Even more so. I don't ask for anything else.

    If I love you, I don't care what happens. You can lie to me, betray me. Take a knife and kill me. If you ask me to, I will throw my life away. That is what love is. If I love you....

    I don't know the truth. I don't understand what is going on. But if you're here, I'm fine. Even without words, even without warmth, I'm alright. Just don't leave me.

The third part came from Loveless manga vol. 5 and ep. 13 of Trinity Blood. In truth, what I wrote is an impossibility in this world. The ideal of betrayal and unconditional love stems from illogical emotions. Of course, since everything I write has ties to my past, I'm no longer able to freely write. Even though my mind wants to turn this into another story, this will stay as a short piece and nothing more. ^-^

Tomorrow...or in a few hours

I'm going to a birthday party held by my previous co-worker. So, even though tomorrow (or today) is my day off, I'll be heading to the city. First stop though will be Flushing so I can put together a presentable b-day gift. Then on to Book Off for some shopping and then finally to the office to meet up with my other co-worker so we can go to the party together. Tomorrow will be busy and I'm up working on pics. *sigh* Time to sleep!

yaoi shopping and yaoi dilenma

Yesterday, I received my Gravitation novels that I ordered from eBay. ^.^ Yesterday was also when Pearl-chan told me that she ordered 'Cage in the Finder' by Yamane Ayano-sensei for me and herself...for $30 each. O.O Due to the Biblos/Libre and manga licensing issues, this vol-2nd in the 'Finder' series-and the 3rd vol, 'One Wing in the Finder' are next to non-existent. I just happen to receive the 3rd book right before Amazon.com stopped shipping them out. Even though I ordered them together, I got the 3rd vol but not the 2nd. >.<; Hopefully, I will finally get this semi-expensive, ultra-rare manga.

According to Pearl-chan, the orders were shipped out last Saturday. (So she didn't just order it yesterday. ^^;) I'm hoping to get it within a week. Hoping is the operative verb here. *waits for Pearl-chan to call* Arigato, Pearl-chan! ^-^

What licensing issue?

If you haven't heard, one of Japan's major BL manga companies, Biblos went bankrupt. (This is old news.) The majority of the yaoi manga in the US are from Biblos. Fortunately, all Japanese manga licenses were picked up by Libre so Japan can still get their manga. How about the US? Of course, Libre is more than happy to continue manga sells with US companies. HOWEVER, new licenses under Libre are needed to continue production of manga in the US.

BeBeautiful (CPM's yaoi line) is the US company that licensed the 'Finder' series. However, the new Libre licenses for the seies has not been made yet. (This may take a loooong time, which is why I'm willing to pay $30 for a $16 book. Heck, people who are selling it online priced it at $40 to $70+. O.O) After Biblos went down, BeBeautiful was suppose to stop selling manga under the Biblos license. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) they didn't and vol. 3 of the 'Finder' series came out which was how I got it. Of course, BeBeautiful stopped shipping out Biblos manga after that since Libre asked them to stop.

Was BeBeautiful's late response responsible for the delay in new licenses from Libre? I don't know.... I truly hope this gets resolved soon. Of course, the 'Finder' series is not the only series affected by this, but it's one that I have been waiting for for quite some time. Many yaoi fans are also waiting. A couple other companies already received their OKs to continue producing their series. Ganbatte, BeBeautiful!
