Arkasa has a nice centre, but it's not allowed to go in there with your bike or car. Park it on the parkingplaces in front of the centre and explore by feet Arkasa, and the curch. Even when it was allowed to go there by car, you won't come far, because many stairs will bring you where you want to go. Nearby the centre of arkasa you can find the Agia Sophia, it's one of the archaeological places at Karpathos. .

Menetes is a village with one mainstreet, and all the other roads on narrow streets you can reach by many stairways. It has a beautiful church, but Menetes is most of all known by the statue of liberty. It is build when Karpathos joined Greece, at october 5th 1944. Every year on this date there's a celebration at this statue.

Diafani is the second port of Karpathos. When you want to visit Olympos, it is nice to go by boat. Then you can also visit diafani before or after your visit to Olympos. Diafani is very small but it has a nice church, one of my favorites to see. It has several restaurants so you can drink something before the boat leaves again.

I always say to people if they want to visit Karpathos:" You didn't visit Karpathos if you didn't visit Olympos". This because Olypos is a nice mountainvillage, in the north of Karpathos. When i visit Olympos i always get the feeling if i stepped into a different world. But it's a nice world. Here you can visit the old church, windmills and the original ovens to make bread. On your way back to Diafani by buss, you can ask the busdriver halfway to stop the buss, and continue the way down by feet through the old river. It's a walk where you can't get lost, and it takes about 45 minutes.

Meschori is situated above Lefkos and even the road to Lefkos and Mesochori is beautiful, with a lot of tree's. Lefkos has only three beautiful beaches and a few taverna's and cafe's. Mesochori is known because of the nice church they have. Both places are worth visiting.
