| MAY and JUNE 2004 ... (the rest of June is continued in my webjournal krynntagious) 06/13/04 - 1:31am In the weeks to come, i will be transforming this site into mainly a Collage site. My blogging will be moved to my new LiveJournal. It'll definitely be less effort in updating ;) comments: LJ 06.13.04 - 9:54pm - Tracy -going to check out new LJ...must add you to my FL. :D 06/07/04 - 2:55pm First day off of 3. I'm chillaxin' today. I know i should probably go back to Van to help the fam, but Ive given them a call and by the sounds of it, they can handle one day without me. So I decided to do some spring cleaning. i guess it could be considered summer cleaning since its just about summer. i think the nicest thing about cleaning this house is to see all the spider guts get vacuumed up! booyah. I bought two cds today. Avril Lavigne's new one "Under My Skin" and Stabilo's "Cupid?". I've only listened to the Avril's cd breifly, and i hear chantal's music written all over it. then again, in a way thats a good thing cuz i love chantals music as well. I'm currently listening to Stabilo, a Vancouver based band. Their website stabilomusic.com describes them as part folk/jazz/rock genre. Probably best known for 'Everybody' which is their hit single on air now. If you get the chance, definitely listen to the track "Any Other Girl". The instrumental part is very jazzy and uplifting. ABSound was selling the cd for only $5. then again, it only has 7 tracks on it, but definitely worth the money. atleast in my opinion :) I'm planning a summer bbq/checkout party for June 27 Sunday. I was a bit conflicted with the date, but after a lot of thought, seems like this day would work out the best. I still have to let my family know about it, but since its a sunday, everything should work out. And to all my island freakish friends and g/friends, you're all invited. I will spread the word again via email since i dont think everyone visits this site ;) then again, why would they want to. its boring! =D I added comment field to my collages section, but the counter on it doesn't seem to be working. Feel free to give feedback, and critisizim is welcomed. otherwise how would i improve? comments: Stabilo 06.12.04 - 4:44am - Tracy -Hope you thoroughly enjoyed your days off. And here's to your barbie. *toasts with wine* May the weather be fine, the food bountiful, the beer cold, and the flies non-existant. 06/05/04 - 4:06pm I can't believe its already June. Don't really notice how quickly time passes when you're busy. Had a late night last night even though i know i probably should'nt have. Rick and i watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I won't say much about it cuz i know some of my friends would prefer not to get a review before watching the movie. So i'll just say I enjoyed it a lot :) Dee started a LiveJournal! its contagious ;) Short blog, i know. I've convinced Nye to buy CS Condition Zero. So looking forward to playing online :D Work has been going well. I booked my first set of 'vacation leave' the last week of August. I'm looking forward to that. Now i just have to plan to do something to make it worthwhile. comments: Harry Potter 3 06.05.04 - 11:28pm - aydenn -thanks for being courteous and not saying anything about Prisoner of Azkaban. let me just say that RL & I tried to watch it last night, only to find that almost all the shows were sold out. we ended up watching Shrek 2 instead, which i don't regret one bit. something's telling me that if I want to watch HP, i'd better go somewhere like langley, not that it's too far away from me anyway. 05/21/04 - 0314pm I've convinced 2 of my friends to write blogs, which is a good thing :) here's Spacecase's Place (go to links section). Now he doesn't have to worry about me 'nagging' him anymore. You're next Nye! >=) So Van Helsing was a very entertaining movie. watched it w/ Dee, her famous b/f, and Rick. There are so many things i really liked about the movie despite the thin plot and a few holes in the story. The movie could've been 5 hours long to explain everything, which would've been awesome (more jackman and beckinsale ;) but it was already over 2 hrs, so i guess i shouldn't be complaining. A lot of CG used in the action scenes and background, but it helped give the movie the right look. Loved the music. Alan Silvestri did such an amazing job setting the mood for each scene. I absolutely love the 2 songs in the movie titled 'Journey to Transylvania' and' Transylvania Horses', especially the parts where the string instrument was used. Jackman, well he did an amazing job. I'd say a cross between Indiana Jones, Batman, Neo, and Bond. *drools inappropriatly* ;) David Wenham is soo adorable. Loved him in LotR, loved him in Van Helsing. Kate Beckinsale did an excellent job with the accent. Would've been really cool to see her kick some more vampire-ass. Then again, i can't compare to Underworld. Speaking of Underworld, damn those people who want me to spend more money in buying the '2 Disc Extended Uncut Verson of Underworld'. Oh well, I'm really looking forward to the outtakes, and the new added commentary. To all my girlfriends going to Vegas. HAVE FUN!!! don't spend ALL your money gambling. take lots of pics!! Wait, i think you left yesterday.. hmm.. which means you won't get this message til you come back. boooo. Well, Hope you had fun anyway :) all that talk about going to vegas ever since highschool really did come true! kicka... I want to keep typing, but i think i'm out of things to say. Until next time... comments: VanHelsing_Vegas 05.22.04 - 1:00am - Nye -Hmmm.... well if I could figure out what the word "blog" meant I'd be one step closer to being interested But you already know my opinion on that. 05/16/04 -1113pm So, is it gross if your house smells like mould? or is it spelt Mold? Well i have this amazing and beautiful orchid sitting in my bedroom which i 'stole' from my mums store, and the other day i sprayed it with water, cuz you know, they like that ;) most of that sprayed water must've soaked into the bdrm carpet because the next day that old odourus-50-yr-old-house-moldy smell surfaced. was nasty! Thank god for the air filter my sister lent me. This is real interesting. Rick opened the trunk of his jeep and found a tiny beehive. Craziness. its a good thing there was only one of them. And last info but not the least, i am officially now an atc. I can't believe how long i've been training for. Thanks to everyone for so much great support! Family - for being so supportive this entire time, even though i don't get much time off since i'm working for you guys, i still love you. Island freaks - for your constant support and encouragment everyday! you guys kickass. All my galpals - you too! thanks for the support! need to go out to celebrate ;) to R- for everything. and also thanks to KS - for your very encouraging letter! You guys all rock! oh, and i can never forget my good neighbours T and A from Australia. thanks for always being there to listen whenever i ranted and raved the past 2 years ;) and if there is anyone else i forgot, thank you thank you thank you! comments: checkout 05.17.04 - 2:19am - Nye -Well, I don't know about the whole smell thing... but If I can taste the mold then you've got problems, otherwise I won't know the difference Congrats on getting your license, you have moved up from an "L" to an "N". Are there roadchecks at your work to see whether you've got it on you at all times? j/k. Keep on kicking butt kiddo! *thumbs up* 05.18.04 - 12:27am - Tracy -Firstly, yes. It is gross. :P Secondly, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Well done, brava, good on ya...*round of applause* So proud of you. And thirdly, ugh. Is that a wasp or a hornet? Whichever it is, it looks nasty. 05/08/04 - 0643pm Hey Trace. my friend from the island says we could BBQ shrimp and send it to you to appease the situation for my lack of updating ;) How does that sound? Okay. well where to start? i'll just say whatever comes to mind. 2 weeks ago my car broke down. NOT FUN. it was the heater core which leaked, therefore all my coolent dripped into the fan system and sprayed onto the floor of the passenger side, and leaked to the back. There was a massive puddle of neon green fluid. was a mess to clean up. Most of the coolent is dried now, but the smell is still there. Everyday i drive to work i get to inhale the wonderful odorous poisionous chemicals. yummy. oh so wonderfully healthy :| So its mothers day weekend, and it got me thinking. My family's got to be one of the hardest working families out there. My mum works 24/7 which includes her flowershop. there's T who manages it as well, training the employees, renovating the house, and then taking care of her 2 little ones in the evening. My bro in law has his day job, and if he isn't there, he's either renovating, working at the shop, or babysitting. Same with dad. if he isn't at his day job which is supposedly one of the most stressful jobs in the world, he's babysitting or doing a million paperwork. and then there's my lil sis who has school to juggle with, and working at the store, and taking care of all the wedding orders. So, after saying that, I think there should be an 'Honour Your Family Day'. okay maybe thats a little cheezy. How about 'Lam Family Day' I like that. From now on, i'll celebrate Lam Family Day once a year. any suggestions on when a good day would be? =) Alright, so we all know the canucks are out of the playoffs this year. Now who do we cheer for? The Calgary Flames of course. They are the last canadian team left in the playoffs. And in response to the woman from BC who made a comment in the province a couple weeks back, You had to have been crazy if you wanted us to cheer for the red wings after the flames ousted the canucks from the playoffs. Woman, are you Canadian??? (and no offence to any americans whatsoever. it is a comment specifically for THAT woman). Speaking of americans, i'm looking forward to the new documentary by Michael Moore which should be released in theatres this summer. its called Faranheit 9/11. Hope i didn't spell that wrong. Its about the war on Iraq and Bush. War is DEFINTIELY NOT the answer to solving the solution. Bush, use your head for once instead of your gun. One last comment about this war from very recent events which started in January and we didn't know about it til now, YES, THOSE IMAGES MADE US SICK TO OUR STOMACHS!! On a lighter note, I bought a new phone. Its pretty sweet! Motorola V60i with CityFido. And to add one more thing, Garrison is starting a LJ!! booyah. (in links section) hahaha >=) G-man, that was a kickass first blog!! comments: first may blog 05.08.04 - 7:06pm - Nye -I agree, family appreciation day should be on the calendar somewhere, and not just so we can buy them stupid cards and stuff. Another thing, why are mother's day and father's day so far apart??? Keep up the good work kiddo, Im sure they are proud of all your hard work too 05.11.04 - 1:14am - Tracy -How does 'shrimp on the barbie' sound? It sounds very 80's. LOL And quite frankly, yuk. I hate shrimp. I never got the whole 'lets chuck it on the barbie and fry it up' thing either. Bleh. But I like the sentiment, so I guess I'm appeased. :P You still getting high on noxious fumes? hehehe 05.11.04 - 11:25pm - krynn -yup. haven't had the time to clean the carpets yet. stomach feels funny everytime i drive the car :| 05.14.04 -5:36am - Tracy -Perhaps it's time to invest in a gas mask? 04/20/04 -1103pm Three blogs in one day. thats a record. this one will be a short one. frakkin crap day at work today. All i can do is not dwell, pick up my feet and keep moving. sucks to be in my position right now, but thats life right? learn from you mistakes. not much i can do. ahh the wonderful world of 'stress'. Stay strong and confident and never give up. i hate quiters and i'm not going to be my own worst enemy. On a lighter note, bought a cd today titled 'Little Things' by Toby Lightman. i'm really liking the sounds of it. mix of acoustic, jazz, and soul. comments: work_tlightman 04.22.04 - 11:43pm - Tracy -oh, the joys of work. You'd think someone would work out a system where we could stay home and play online all day and get paid for it, wouldn't you? Sorry it sucks. But if it's any consolation...my workplace bites it bigtime too. We can be miserable together. 04.27.04 - 1:50am - Tracy -Hey! Where are your updates? I've updated my boring LJ twice since you last have. Get yourself together and post! 05.08.04 - 7:07pm - krynn -LOL.. me bad! real life is taking over! then again, isn't my blog real life? :| okay you've convinced me. i'll update 04/20/04 - 0200am Ooh neat. i picked this up from Tracy's LJ from her friends list. Lets see what kind of answers i can come up with. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says. "strength goals (15) and fifth in even strength points (29)... Also scored or assisted on" Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first? Rickard What is the last thing you watched on TV? But i guess i can say i have plenty of news to report. read on if you're interested. The Bad. You should've seen me yell my head off "YES" when canucks scored in the 3rd period with 5 seconds left. wow that was exciting. the disappointment came early in sudden death w/ the flames scoring. *sigh* The Good. May is a big month. Rick got an internship job at CBC starting the beginning of the month, same with V who got a job at a pvt school. plus him and T will be moving early May into their newly renovated house. Exiting stuff. And some news on me, it should be soon. Thanks for all of you who believe in me and your continued support. A big Thank You to KS for the letter. I continue to stay positive and confident. comments: good/bad 04.22.04 - 11:36pm - Tracy -lazy. well, you did ask for it. 04/04/04 - 0931pm No april fools joke for me this year. Or atleast i should say i'm glad i didn't fall for any. Yesterday was Jamie Bambers Birthday, so a BIG Happy Birthday to you cute stuff =) As usual, i'm listening to Z95.3fm, and they have this amazing contest going on right now called the 'Good Karma Contest'. Basically if you're the 9th caller, you win $1000, five hundred for you to keep, five hundred to give away to your favorite charity. I think this has got to be one of the best contests i've ever heard of. Now here's the thing, all the past winners of the good karma contest are entered into a final draw for $200,000!! And you get to keep 100,000 for yourself, and give away 100,000 to your favorite charity. Thats happening on april 9th. Fingers crossed that i'll even beable to make 9th caller... So i've been thinking, IF i won the 200grand, which charity would i give half the money to? RC and I had a discussion about this. We both agreed that The Food Bank would be an excellent way to spend the money. And maybe some of the smaller 'diseases' like MS, or Parkinsens (however you spell). Or maybe towards funding for breast cancer research. Its too bad that you couldn't split up that money to give to mutiple charities. The Canucks!! Wow, its been 11 years since we've won the division title! But we don't find out til tomorrow who we're against in the playoffs (either dallas or calgary). Bring it on. comments: 040404 04.16.04 - 4:08am - Tracy -Did you win? Have you taken the money and disappeared on a luxurious cruise to the Carribean? Congrats on your teams win. My football team is going along swimmingly so far. :D Go Canucks and Lions!! 04.16.04 - 11:30am - krynn -i wish! actually i'd probably use it for vacation money! could come and visit you and annalee in aussie. I watched AFL for the first time the other day!! really exciting. it was on satellite tv at work. can't wait to catch another game (the one i watched was richmond vs melbourne) 04.20.04 - 1:14am - Tracy -Sorry you didn't win. But big pats on the back to you for falling under the AFL spell! You really don't wanna barrack for Melbourne or Richmond though. You wanna barrack for my team - the Brisbane Lions. But if you really wanna barrack for one of the original Victorian sides, barrack for Carlton. They wear pretty blue uniforms. If you ever decide to barrack for Collingwood or Essendon, I'll have to disown you. Just a friendly tip. Oh, I have a LJ now...a really BORING LJ...in case you ever get tired of counting sheep. My LJ will put you right to sleep. http://www.livejournal.com/users/quietlybemused/ 03/26/04 - 0536pm A few days ago when i was driving home from work, i had the tunes cranked up and heard this song for the first time and for some reason it really tickled my heart. I haven't figured out if that was in a good way or bad way, but the song was very deep for me. It was Melissa Ethridges' "Breathe". Its definitely got to do with the lyrics. If you get a chance to listen to the song, let me know what you think. So today i was working, and my confidence almost hit rock bottom, and my day had just started (felt like the crapper). seriously not a good feeling. But I knew i had to let my emotions go and just put it behind me. I was fine soon after, and still am. I honestly have no clue what to talk about.... so... BLAH!! I'm in a chat right now w/ some great people, so off I go to pay a little more attnetion to them instead of my boring blog. comments: mar26_04 03.28.04 - 11:44pm - Tracy -I love this new look! Tis very purdy. Sorry you had a crap day. But hey - it's over now, and tomorrow can only get better. So chin up, look on the bright side, shrug it off...I can't think of anymore... 03.29.04 - 3:21pm - Nye -I have been a fan of just about every song I have ever heard entitled "breathe" Melissa Etheridge's song is pretty heavy with strong emotional lyrics, As usual, the music in the background isn't too strong in my memory, but I definitely like the song. 03/17/04 - 0526pm This is going to be a short entry cuz i'm somewhat in a rush to get out of here, but i know i won't beable to update in the next few days, so i thought i should post something. need to drive straight into rushhour to catch a bbq dinner tonight. So as i said in my previous entry, i've been having an awesome week. and it really has been a good week. I'm amazed myself. Its really funny too, a few days ago I had to tell some of my colleagues to 'shut up' cuz they were being too noisy. My colleagues were quite happy and encouraged it whenever it needed to be done. Now when is it 'OK' that you can tell your colleagues to shut up in a work environment? My job is probably one of the very few that allow it LOL. It was good. i got a little teased for that afterwards, but i didn't mind. i had to do what i had to do.. So now i'm totally hooked on CounterStrike the online game. i can't believe it! its so addictive. i mean i really suck. 2 kills and 15 deaths. LOL but oh well.. it sure was fun playing. hmm.. i think little pig has it on her computer >=) well, time to go for dinner, and a weekend of 'fun babysitting' ;) cheers! 03/14/04 - 0939pm I finally updated my site. modified the favorites and collages section, added comments, and added 2 hidden links with information about those freaky friends of mine =) Actually only one of them works at the moment since the other link is still under construction. This week has been amazing so far. My confidence seems to be going up, and i think i'm doing a kickas.. job at work. hopefully i'm not sounding too cocky at the moment, but i'm just having a great week. i wonder if its the sun thats been shining all week. all i can recall the last few days is getting out of bed, walking to my car, waving to the sun, drinking my tims coffee, giving it my all at work, then driving home while enjoying the tunes on z95.3, and stepping out of my car to smile at the stars. What can i say now? 'Knock on wood' Congratulations Trevor Linden!! for scoring your 674th point! *swoons* comments: great week 03.15.04 - 12:47am - Nye - I have been waiting to hear about days like this happening to my friend for a long time. I sincerely hope they continue for a long period of time. Let the good times roll *thumbs up* 03.15.04 - 12:50am - Nye -It just keeps getting better, the sun is only a minor factor. You get out what you put it, and it is paying out in spades."Carpe Diem", seize the day. If you look towards the light you will rarely see your shadow. 03.17.04 - 1:57am - aydenn -i'm liking the new layout. me also thinks the pic on the side is pretty cool cuz i can't figure out what the heck it is...is that the point? glad to hear life's treating you well! 2 thumbs up for my man Trevor! 03.25.04 - 7:01pm - krynn -LOL.. keep guessing. if you really can't figure it out, i'll show you next time we see each other. 03/09/04 - 0604pm I haven't had such an awesome day in soo long! Woke up early enough to drive and meet my bestfriend for lunch. It was a delicious lunch at Tim Hortons too. There was a lot of catching up between the both of us. Then a drive out to Steveston was nice. Walked around for a bit. Its amazing at how strong the wind is when you're right by the coast. I'm surprised my hair didn't get as messy as it could of. probably thanks to the hat my friend lended me. And before we knew it, our time was up, and we said our goodbyes. Was definitely an excellent afternoon. And then, the rest of the afternoon was just as good. I came home and found out that i had just won the I wish there was more to say, but i have nothing else to add that sounds 'lucky' enough to be included in this blog ;) so i will leave it at that. I hope everyone is doing well. Off to Victoria to visit some great guys ;) Be back in a few days. 02/28/04 - 0248pm Its interesting the way the mind works. You try so hard to stay positive for so long one day it just seems like you 'break' and everything is over. And then when you feel like you've hit rock bottom, somehow you manage to pick yourself up and keep going. As if even though you're mentally exhausted, the heart won't give up, instead it gives you another boost to get back on your feet and still move forward. Interesting isn't it? Saturday and loving it. There is a convention this weekend which i should've checked out and its in Abbotsford. all about Vintage cars! nice eh? as i was driving home, a Fire red Camaro sat staring at me. i drove by it a little too quickly to bother turning around and taking a picture. now i regret it ;) she sure was pretty looking. Could've been something to drool over. But I know 'my girl' will be fixed up within the next few years and look just as pretty, but in BLUE. I'm not sure what type of blue yet because I haven't found the right one. But my Camaro will definitely be blue with white stripes.. Well, i'm going to watch The Music Man tonight. oh, and do laundry as well :| hopefully next time i'll have something more interesting to write. |
