The first time when I knew about the Havanese was when a friend of mine talked me about this breed. At that time she had a dog of this breed and she enjoyed talking about her dog. I also loved very much the dogs although I have never had one in my home. Every day I learned something new about them. One day her son took to our work her dog. I remember that I liked her very much. After that I was invited to participate in a meeting where people, own of this breed, came with their dogs and talked about how to rescue them, how to train, caring, shows and a lot of interesting things about the Havanese. Then I remember, how this little dog captured my attention with his cheerful character, his small stature and his beauty. I was fascinated with this small fleecy dog. That was how born my interest to know more and more about this race. And one day my daughters and me decided that we wanted to have in our family a dog of this breed. I can’t express the happiness that I felt when the small puppy arrived to my home. Was a beautiful girl and was called Anca de la Giraldilla. (“La GiraldilIa” is a kennel name of our club). This puppy was so happy, very mischievous and curious. She made so funny things that we stayed surprised because of her intelligence. Today Anca is 12 years old. She is very happy. She was one of the founders of club. Many of her children, grandsons and great-grandchildren have been national and international champions. My family and me began to work with a group of people who breed Havanese and we were devoted to the rescue and development of the race. And is in 1991 when was founded the Cuban Club of the Havanese. In 1995 I had my second litter where born Euphoria my second girl, one year later Diana born. In 2000 year Euphoria had 4 beautiful babies, one of them was Romeo, who is our male and Current Cuban Champion in Expocanina 2001. Is this way like our family grew. And now days we can’t imagine our live without this small friends.
