Go fly a kite!

New York's Central Park was the first stop on our 'Big Apple' trip. We've heard that it's a dangerous place to walk through at night but, in the New York daylight of autumn, it was beautiful! The colours on the trees were starting to change, it was full of interesting sights and people, and the 'Strawberry Fields' tribute to John Lennon was worth the walk.

The Central Park Fountain
Beautiful tiles in the tunnel
This is the huge fountain in Central Park. It's been used in a lot of movies.
Near the fountain is a small tunnel with elaborate engravings and tiles like this.
Caity
Tristan
Caity was loving the fountain! It was hard getting her away from it!
A reluctant pose from Tristan who was checkin' out the Central Park babes!

A tour of Central Park
Here a couple takes a relaxing tour of Central Park on a horse and carriage. The drivers were very entertaining and at one point, on video camera, a carriage driver showed my Dad a 'New York Bird'!
Okay, Mom. Take the damn picture!

Me at the 'West' entrance as we left 'The Dakota' across Central Park West.
This is the 'Imagine' mosaic at the West entrance of the park. It is an artist's memorial to John Lennon.
