Following a decision to generalize the search for weapons of mass destruction, Col. Horace J Blitzenburger (of the Tuxedo Ninth Cavalry) has been given the special assignment of heading a group looking for the weapons in Germany.Dismissing reports that the "Bavarian Redoubt" was a myth, the Colonel commented:-
The search is ongoing. Fifty-eight years is too soon to conclude anything about the former Nazi regime's WMD. We know that they had them. There are an overwhelming number of places they could be hidden; the Alps are a big place. The good Colonel is confident that evidence will eventually be found, though his appointment may have to be made a hereditary one. Recently he investigated the Munich brothel on rumors that some weapons had been concealed there. The search was brought to a halt by the premature discharge of the Colonel's own weapon. But as "Blitzie" freely admits, the search for "those goddamn Krauts' WMD" is one problem that cannot be solved by his favorite method — that of dropping a daisy-cutter on it.
