Members of WetWorks were originally in a division of I/O's Team 7, outfitted with synthetic, symbiotic armor, and sent on what was supposed to be a suicide mission. Surviving the mission, the team realized that I/O's motives were to study them as scientific specimens, rather than let them operate independently. This being the case, WetWorks defected from I/O, and the members formed their own group under the patronage of industrialist Armand Waering. With Waering's backing, the team wages war against the supernatural hordes of the Vampire Nation and the Werewolf Nation (both legions of monster threatening humanity), while coming to terms with their new lives, encased in armor.
