The Bibbulmun Track
Western Australia's finest bush walking or trekking track.

Day Tripping the Bibbulmun Track

The Bibbulmun Track is a hiking or trekking track 963.1 kilometers long. The Bibbulmun Track runs from the outer Perth suburb of Kalamunda in a southerly direction to the Southern Ocean town of Albany.

The track winds its way through Australian bush over hills, beside rivers, along old dirt logging tracks and in some cases recently closed logging tracks. Of its 963.1 kilometers it only runs along highways for a few meters and only goes through farmland a few times - and that's a pleasant change.

The track is dotted with well-built campsites along its path. The nearest of these to a main road is less than a kilometer. The furthest, probably about 40 kilometers.

I walk the track on week-ends. The distaces that I quote on the left from the roadside to the campsite should be doubled, if you are planning to get back.

I decided as a get-fit project to visit each camp-site, later I decided to take photographs and write up on the web what I experienced and saw.

This section is a summary of some of the day trips that I have been on.

I guess I'l have to get back to those earlier campsites with a camera.

If you see your photograph here and want a copy please email me. All of the photos here have been reduced in size (and hence quality) in order to fit them into the web site and so that they may load faster. (Quality sacrificed for speed and space). I am not going to keep the originals forever.

More to come - I'll gradually have them all on.
