The reunion has been conducted in San Diego which was the home port of our ship while many of us were aboard.

The reunion was coordinated and planned by Gene Watkins and occurred September 16 - 19, 2004

For those of us that have not returned to San Diego in many years the changes will be dramatic as can be seen in this view across the bay.

Gene worked hard to provide us with a memorable reunion experience. He selected a hotel and made the arrangements for our stay.

The reunion hotel is the Mission Valley Resort in Mission Valley. As you review the information collected, I think you will agree that this is a beautiful, first class location that offers a wide enough variety of activities and entertainment for all of us.

As shown in the following two photos the resort archetecture is Spanish, and as is usual in California the grounds are lush with flowers and other plants.

The rooms are comfortably and tastefully furnished and should meet our needs nicely.

The rooms feature either 2 double beds or a single king size bed. there is in-room hair dryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, cable TV, and in-room safes.

The Banquet Room and Meeting room is very elegent, provided with state of the art lighting and sound systems, and is managed by professional meeting and catering personnel.

Chiken, beef, and fish dinners will be available for our Banquet.

In addition an elegent patio and garden prefuncion area for breaks and receptions will be made available.

As a Mission Valley Resort guest you will receive complimentary access to the Frogs Club which has set the standard for excellence for California health clubs.

A heated lap pool, cardiovasclar weight training, and aerobic rooms will help keep you in shape.

For a nominal feel you can enjoy a game of tennis on one of 5 night lighted tennis courts or one of 5 racquet Ball courts.

You can see from the map that the resort is located in close proximity to the airport and other attractions that can be enjoyed during your free time. There are several hotels in this location, they have a shuttle there for all flights and the cost is seven dollars to your destination. We will be approximately five miles from airport. Gene Watkins

The hotel rate is $79 per nightfor either single or double occupancy. Reservations must be made by Monday, August 16, 2004and a major credit card is required to hold the room. At check in you must also present a major credit card or pay a $100 cash deposit. Check in time is 3PM.

The Zoo and Sea World are two of the local attractions

In addition, The Trolley Station, Old Town, sandy beaches, premier shopping malls, and challenging golf are all nearby.
