Disclaimer : The characters of Xena, Gabrielle and Aphrodite were inventedby the wonderful folk at Renaissance Pictures. The blame for the GoddessDemeter rests fairly and squarely with me, as it does for the events in this fairlyplotless opus.
Warning : This story does not contain subtext - it is ENTIRELY subtextual.
This little piece is offered as a consolation to all those subtexters who areconcerned by the possible effect of Lucy Lawless' pregnancy on the subtext.I, a mere, over-exuberant fan can think of ways (other than Mother Nature'sfavoured one) to get Xena pregnant, so I say, "Have Faith!" The staff writersget paid far more than I do to wring ideas from their twisted sensibilities.

The Milky Way

Xena could suppress her amusement no longer, she giggled out loud. Shehad been woken by the bard's restless movements, and unable to get backto sleep, had rolled onto her side to watch her. Gabrielle was having a veryenjoyable dream judging by her soft cries and moans - the now-familiaraccompaniment to their love-making.
As if that wasn't enough, her nipples were thrusting proudly through the thinfabric of the short shift she was sleeping in. This is way too much fun to keep toyourself, my little bard, thought Xena, as she felt herself begin to throb inempathy.
"Gabrielle..." she growled seductively into her ear.
No response, just more whimpers.
Xena threw their blanket back and grinned. Tossing and turning had madethe short shift travel up over the bard's hips. Keeping her eyes fixed on thebard's flushed face, she walked two long, calloused fingers along the crest ofthe nearest hipbone and into the short golden fuzz at the end of it.
"Mmmmmmm," came the sleepy response.
Xena swirled her fingers lightly through the damp curls, and took note withsome satisfaction of the shivers that this evinced. With a little grunt, Gabrielleparted her legs slightly. This was all the invitation the warrior needed toconfirm her suspicions about the nature of the dream.
"Oh yes, baby! You are having a good time," she said huskily as her fingers slidslickly into the bard's folds. "How's about waking up and letting me in on it?"
She flicked her thumb glancingly across the younger woman's engorged clit.
"Ooooooooooh! Xeeeeena!"
Gabrielle sat bolt upright on the bedroll, and deprived Xena of her view ofthe bard's flushed face.
"Some dream you were having. Wanna let me in on the fun?" the warriordrawled, pitching her voice lower in just the way that she knew would catchher attention.
Gabrielle turned towards the sound of her lover's voice, her eyes still cloudedwith sleep.
"The baby! Where's the baby?!" she asked frantically.
"Baby?!?"
Xena's heart sank, and unnerved by the stricken look on the bard's face, shewithdrew her hand to rest on a soft thigh. "What baby Gabrielle?" she askedsoftly, praying the answer wouldn't be Hope.
"Solan! Your baby!"
As soon as she uttered the words she realised her faux pas.
"Oh Xena I'm so sorry! It was only a dream. I just blurted it out. I didn't think!Please....forgive me?"
"It was only a dream, Gabrielle. If I hadn't woken you I'd be none the wiser,"reassured the warrior. And I'm no wiser as to how a dream about my deadchild can be so erotic, she thought. "It's okay - really."
"Thanks!" breathed the bard, relief evident in her face.
"You're welcome," smiled Xena.
They looked at each other silently for a while. The only sounds were the nightnoises and the crackle of the embers of their fire.
Gabrielle's eyes sparkled suspiciously in the soft red glow of the firelight.
Xena's eyes were dark and inscrutable as she was facing the trees at theedge of the clearing they had camped in on this moonless night.
The bard needed reassurance that her gaffe hadn't opened old wounds, and she leaned in for a kiss. It was the warrior who shattered the silence foronce, speaking before their lips could make contact.
"I'm puzzled, Gabrielle. It seemed like a pretty hot dream, but Solan was in it.As a baby? Was I there too?"
"Yes and yes, you were there too," she replied drawing back slightly. Noinstant reassurance then, she thought sadly.
"I gave Solan away the day he was born - it was pretty nightmarish, I tell ya.And you were just a little kid back then. How can a dream like that be sucha....turn on?"
"Uuuuh, it was really mixed up. Crazy actually."
The bard wasn't sure where to look any more, but Xena's eyes were clearlynot on the list of places that she could gaze on with equanimity.
"Hmmm. Crazy, but erotic, it seems."
Gabrielle flushed and she nodded. Xena began to stroke her thigh.
"Just watching you was enough to get me going too. Care to fill me in so wecan get together on this one?"
"It was really weird, I..I..I'm not sure I remember it all."
Xena's eyebrow arched sceptically.
"That shocking, huh? Afraid 'Disgusted of Amphipolis' will kick you out of themarital bedroll?"
In spite of her embarassment, Gabrielle managed a nervous little giggle.
"I'd rather not, really..."
Xena interrupted with a heavy sigh.
"Look Gabrielle, I'm way older than you, I've been as far East..."
"...as the Kingdoms of Chin, as far West as the Isle of Ierne, and you've seen somuch more of life and people than I have - I KNOW!" She was breathing hardas she finished the familar chant. Sometimes she felt that she would neverbridge that gulf of experience that lay between them, and that she andXena were the biggest mismatch in the history of the Known World.
"So? What's new? Try me. Tell me. See if you can shock me. If you do, we hitthe next inn and spend a few days there and you can tell stories to yourheart's content and eat the landlord out of house and home - my treat."
Ah, but when Xena came out with statements like that, the bard knew thegulf was a mere trout stream, best forded seated on Argo's back, held safelyin the warrior's arms.
"Hmmmm." She was able to meet Xena's steady, unflinching gaze at last.
"What if I don't shock you?"
Her lopsided grin cracked and the warrior laughed.
"Then I guess I'm the one that gets spoiled," she husked.
"Oh no! Not fishing!" the bard exclaimed in mock horror.
"No! Much better than that. I get to be pampered by you. So we have to findthe inn with the biggest hottub in Thrace, and you get to wash my back everyday, as punishment for your less than shocking imaginings."
Gabrielle giggled again, enchanted with this unorthodox definition of losing abet.
"You mean we get to go to Cyrene's if you aren't shocked?"
"Yup. There's a lot of repairs to be done, so I'm going to get very hot andsweaty and stinky. You get the job of cleaning me up so I don't clear mom'stavern of customers. It's a real bad place you're in, bard - a win-winsituation!" grinned Xena wickedly.
Gabrielle nodded, grinning back in kind and took a deep breath.
"We were back in the Amazon village, and I was trying to get all theneighbouring tribes to agree defence policies and negotiation tactics and soon."
"Tough job without Ephiny and Solari to help you," butted in Xena, her voicesoft with sympathy.
"Oh no, Solari and Ephiny were alive too. That's the nice thing about dreams. Now don't interrupt me again, or I won't be able to tell you the rest."
Xena pressed her lips together and ran a finger across them to indicate thatthey were now sealed, and the bard contiued narrating her dream.

After the meeting, drained from the effort of holding it together, Gabrielleheaded back to the Queen's hut that she and Xena had been sharing for thebest part of a year now. She still had to pinch herself to make sure that shewasn't dreaming this settled life they were now living.
The moon was well risen, so she knew Xena and the baby were probablysettled for the night. There was a small night light on the table where she puther Queen's mask down. A soft snore from their bed told her that Xena haddrifted off into a sleep so deep there would be no waking her until morningunless the sky fell in. Rustles and snuffles from the corner of the room madeher pick up the little lantern and go over to the crib.
The baby's dark blue eyes were wide open and as soon as the lightappeared, he stopped moving. In his little mind, the light was associated withsomeone coming to pick him up, snuggle him to something much softer andlots warmer than his cosy crib, and best of all - it gave food! He wasn't reallythat hungry, but his baby instincts made sure that he never wasted anopportunity to feed. His little face crumpled and he started to wail.
"Hush darling! Didn't mommy feed you?"
This wasn't mom. It was the other voice that he associated with comfort - butno food was forthcoming when this one held him to her. She started to rockthe crib. That old trick wasn't going to work. He changed his wail to"pathetically starved".
"Sssssssh, darling! Mommy's very tired but I'll see what I can do," cooedGabrielle to the mite with the reddening face.
"Xena!" she called and looked over at the bed. The warrior was sprawled onher back, one arm flung out to the side, the hand resting on the bard's pillow. The snores continued steadily. Gabrielle grinned.
"So, Warrior Mom, you missed me, huh?"
The wail was very insistent now, so she picked Solan up, carried him over andlaid him down beside his mother.
"Xena!!?"
She shook a shoulder this time as she called more loudly.
"Hnnnnnnhh??!"
She was beginning to stir, so she shook harder.
"Whasssssmadder?? Wheresafire?"
The warrior's speech was slurred and thick with sleep. Half a year after hisbirth, she still couldn't seem to associate waking up with feeding her son.
Gabrielle grinned as she recalled the time when a mere whisper in her earwould have brought Xena instantly awake and fully alert - way back beforethe baby was born.
"Solan's hungry, mom. Time for the bedtime feed."
"Bedtime was ages ago," groused Xena as she hauled herself up to lean backagainst the pillows Gabrielle was placing behind her back.
"Well, it's my bedtime now. Guess he sets his body clock by me. Seems like heknows he can't wake you without my help any more."
Xena pulled a face as she slipped the straps of her shift off her shoulders andsquirmed out of them to make herself ready to feed her son.
Gabrielle picked Solan up and fussed over him while this was going on. It washer way of focussing her mind somewhere other than the swollen, milk-ladenbreasts the warrior had now exposed.
"Ready," sighed Xena, at last.
The bard handed the grumbling bundle to his bleary-eyed mother, then satdown on the edge of the bed to watch him suckle. The sight of Xena feedingSolan had fascinated her from the very first time she had watched it. Itseemed to bring out all the tenderness and gentleness that Gabrielle knew tobe part of the warrior's soul - qualities that were usually hidden behind thebrisk, don't-fuck-with-me exterior she effected in public.
Now, six months later, Xena was finding the whole process of feeding her big, sturdy, fast-growing boy a drain on her reserves. She was now sleeping andeating more than Gabrielle, much to her annoyance and the bard'samusement.
While she still welcomed, and even at times sought, the younger woman'saffectionate embraces, passionate love-making was becoming a rareoccurrence for them. They had both been subjected to reams of helpfuladvice on this from every Amazon who had had a baby and who was in arelationship - human or Centaur.
Gabrielle didn't feel resentful - it was so good to see Xena's joy over her son.She was, however, having difficulty with her own feelings and impulses.
Especially a new one that had surfaced a few weeks after the child wasborn. She was battling that urge right now, grateful that Solan was nuzzledinto the breast nearest to her.
Xena looked up at her, her eyelids drooping sleepily once more and gaveher a slow lazy smile.
"Still think this is wonderful?"
Gabrielle nodded. She thought she might squeak if she opened her mouth tospeak an answer.
"I used to think so too. But I'm too old for this motherhood stuff - it's a youngwoman's game. I should have done it ages ago. Too gods-damnedbusy....Hera's tits!!!"
"Are you okay?"
"Just leaking again. Hey there, kiddo! Time to change sides."
Gabrielle could feel the heat rising, as Xena carefully detached the baby'smouth from one nipple and shifted him in her arms to suckle at the other. Theflush in the bard's face had calmed by the time the warrior looked up again, but the warmth between her legs was building.
Xena leaned back against the pillows and let out a long sigh.
"Oooh that's a relief!" she mumbled as her eyelids drifted shut.
Gabrielle forced her attention away from Xena's nearer, bare breast to Solanas he sucked less greedily at the far one, and then up to the warrior's face.
She wasn't sure who fell asleep first - mother or son, but Xena's snores seemedto begin while Solan was still taking a desultory suck every now and then. Atlast his little mouth relaxed and he relinquished his grip on the large, duskynipple.
The bard stood up and as she gently took him from Xena's arms, thedampness between her legs increased. Gritting her teeth, she put the babyback in his crib and steeled herself for the really hard part of the job.
Solan hadn't really been that hungry and Xena was still leaking milk. Gabriellegroaned. She would have to pull the shift up to make the warriorcomfortable, but how? Her hands were shaking with the effort of controllingher urge to nurse at her lover's bountiful breasts.
She tore her eyes away from them and looked into Xena's face - relaxed insleep her expression was soft, and she seemed younger than when she wasawake and about her business. The bard was fully aware of the amount oftrust required of the warrior to allow anyone to see her thus, unguarded. Itwas a privilege, she knew, and Gabrielle cherished it.
Totally crashed - she'd never know, would she? thought the bard, as she satdown on the side of the bed, shaking with the force of her desire.
She leaned across and steadied herself with a bracing arm. She lowered herhead and slowly and carefully took the milky nipple into her mouth. Shepushed gently into the soft, hot flesh, swirling her tongue lightly round thenipple until the warm sweet milk flowed into her mouth. It was the sweetestmilk Gabrielle ever remembered tasting in her life. She felt tears prickling hereyes behind her closed lids.
"So that's what's been bugging you, sweetheart," murmured Xena huskily.
Gabrielle pulled away and sat up as if she'd been stung by a hornet. Shewas so surprised that she forgot to close her mouth, and she sat there, stunned, with milk dribbling down her chin.
This provoked a wicked grin from Xena.
"For Demeter's sake, why didn't you just ask me?!" she asked as she reachedout and put a hand on the bard's flushed cheek. She leaned forward andcarefully licked the milky chin clean. She pulled away and gave a lopsidedsmile as she noted that the bard's mouth was still open and her face waseven more flushed than before.
Opening her own mouth, Xena claimed Gabrielle's and slowly, starting withthe lips, explored it langourously with her tongue. The bard at last began torespond, and for a while it seemed as if their kiss would never end. The tasteof her own milk on Gabrielle's mouth produced an unexpected but pleasant, warm, wet reaction in Xena's groin. Oh sweet Aphrodite was this all it takes tomake me ready for her? the warrior thought, dizzy with relief at the return ofher apparently vanished libido.
"Gods, I taste good!" she quipped as she broke the kiss.
Gabrielle was grinning from ear to ear with relief.
"Yeah, just divine. If Ambrosia doesn't taste like that, you can keep Olympus!"she gulped as she blinked back her tears.
"How long have you been itching to do that?"
She shrugged. "Oh I dunno - since a few weeks after he was born, I think. Youaren't grossed out, are you?"
"Oh no! Quite the opposite."
"I thought there was something wrong with me - you know to feel like thatabout you. To want to do that."
"And I thought there was something wrong with me. I just didn't seem torespond to you any more. And I'm glad you did it. Feel how glad."
Xena took the bard's hand and guided it under the sheets.
"Oh Xena...me too..." she sighed, and leaned in to kiss the warrior hungrily onthe mouth.
Xena started to tug imaptiently at the belt of her skirt.
"Come to bed, my little bard," she purred into her ear, and in momentsGabrielle had stripped and joined her on the Queen's bed. Xena's shift hadbunched around her waist, proving no impediment to their frantic embraces, their hands seeking the warm epicentres of their quaking pleasure, Gabriellesuckling as freely as she had desired from her lover's fecund breasts......

"And that's where you woke me up," said the bard, sounding more than alittle ratty to have been disturbed from such a delightful dream.
Xena's expression was inscrutable.
"Well?" she prompted apprehensively.
"Huh?!"
Xena seemed miles away.
"Shocked?"
The warrior's lips twitched, and then the smile started to spread. Lopsided atfirst, it wasn't long before it was a broad, dazzling, grin.
"Nope! You aren't the only one who has fantasies like that y'know!"
Gabrielle's mouth dropped open.
"Y-y-y-you too?" she gasped. "About me?!?!"
Pressing her lips together to stop herself laughing aloud Xena nodded.
"When?!!!!'
"After you had Hope. I got to thinking what it might be like if you had a realbaby. How I'd look after the two of you. What it would be like to kiss and suckat your breasts while you were nursing. So, if you're weird, then I'm weird too."They regarded each other quietly for a while, absorbing this strange new quirkin their desires for each other.
"Course that's not gonna happen now," said Xena.
"Why not?"
"Well...not for me. I can't contemplate being with a man ever again You'remy soulmate, I could never be unfaithful to you."
"If you wanted another baby badly I wouldn't mind.
""Oh Gabrielle!"
Xena's voice was rough and the bard could see that her eyes were sparkling, dark and all as it was.
She kissed her gently.
"I've had a baby, and I make a lousy mother. You'd make a wonderful one,and Hope wasn't like a real child. If you ever wanted one I won't mind."
"Oh Xena I could never be unfaithful to you either!"
They laughed at this mutual declaration of their love.
"It really turns you on too - the thought of... you know?" asked the bard shyly."Oh yeah! Feel how much!"
They had just got engrossed in assessing the erotic effect of motherhood oneach other, when there was a bright flash in the clearing startled them. Theystopped kissing and looked around resentfully to find the source of theinterruption.
"Hi gals! My, you two sure know how to make anything into a good time!"
"Aphrodite!" ground Xena through her teeth. "What brings you here."
"Why, you sweet things! And those lusty thoughts of drinking from eachother's...er...oh why do you use such big words bardy?? Why couldn't you justsay something descriptive like...milk bars?"
Gabrielle started to growl.
"Okay! Calm down - your dream, you can do what you like, say what youlike!" She turned to Xena. "How d'ya ever figure out what she wants betweenthe sheets - or if she even likes what you're doing? I can never figure out if it'sone of my kinda dreams or some more of her boring poetry running round herhead!"
Xena put a restraining hand on Gabrielle's arm, alarmed at the chokingsounds she was making.
"I read a lot. I have a big vocabulary."
Aphrodite shrieked.
"Oh so that's what that's called!" She winked extravagantly. "And I thought itwas just - one of your many skills!"
"Look, if you've just come here to mock..." she reached for her chakram as shespoke.
"Hey! Chill out, Warrior Babe! The Baby Thing. I'm here to help. So tell AuntyAphrodite, who wants to get fat, huh?"
"FAT!?? Being pregnant isn't being fat!" blazed Gabrielle, whose rapidpregnancy had left her feeling cheated.
"Okay - you want the baby, so who d'you want to have for a daddy, bardypoo?"
"No-one, thank you!" she answered acidly.
"Gimme a break bard-girl! I'm not as dim as I seem. You girls have the hots foreach other, so no guy is gonna go near either of you without divineintervention. Voilą! Moi is here to help!"
"You just don't get it do you? Since it would involve one of us being unfaithfulto the other, we' re not going to get pregnant. So butt out," snarled Xena.
Then she decided to give Aphrodite something to think about and keep herout of their hair. "Unless of course you know some way that I could getpregnant by Gabrielle," she added, winking at the bard.
"Hmmm..." Aphrodite's eyes narrowed, and she frowned in concentration.
"You could almost believe she had a brain to use," whispered Gabrielle toXena, "when she looks like that. I wonder does she practise in front of amirror?"
Xena grinned.
"Oh Demi?!!!!"
The Love Goddess clapped her hands - the Olympian emergency call signal.
A split second later (did you know that the loud tearing sound you hear justbefore a God arrives is actually the sound of a second splitting? Well, you donow.) with a bright flash, another Goddess appeared.
She was of medium height and she had a rather frazzled appearance. Herlustrous chestnut hair was caught up in a casual knot at the nape of herneck, and strands were escaping all over her head. She was carrying a newborn infant in her arms, and her loosely draped dress was carelessly parted toallow the hungry child to suckle at her very full breast. The rest of her figurewas voluptuously proportioned, she was the very essence of fertility andmaternal devotion.
"What now, you flibbertigibbet!!! Can't you see I'm busy??"
"I need your help with a pregnancy, Demeter," begged Aphrodite.
"Aw, for the love of...I thought even you had figured out what caused that bynow!!!"
"Yeah, well, regular ones I have no problem with, but for one of these..." shegestured to what Xena had earlier referred to as the marital bedroll.
Demeter glanced over at them as she shifted the infant from one breast tothe other - it now looked to be about three months old.
"Find 'em a man, sweet thing - you can do that can't you?"
"No point, Demi!!! Look CAREFULLY!"
Demeter sighed and took a more leisurely look at the couple on the bedrollat the far side of the fire. She now noticed where their hands were.
"Aw, holy Sappho! Why didn't you say so in the first place? Stop wasting mytime!" Grumbling to herself she shifted the six-month-old child yet again as sheambled over to examine her subjects.
"Okay gals, no guys involved so it'll be a girl. Which of you wants to have it?"
"Me!" squeaked Gabrielle, in shock at the speed at which this was happening.
"I'm not the motherly type really," offered Xena guiltily as the Goddess turnedand stared at her. Demeter eyed her appraisingly, and pursed her lips into akiss.
"I can see that Butch, but you're the best bet. Great hips. The kid will haveproblems with a real delivery. Could be dicey."
"Okay, me then."
"Xena!! I'm younger than you," began Gabrielle.
"Look, make your minds up girls! I haven't got all night! Once my baby startsto walk and talk I won't have time to do anything for anyone 'til she's allgrown up." Demeter made a show of transferring her nine-month-old offspringfrom breast to breast again, and by chance saved her coiffure fromdeconstruction by tiny baby fists.
Xena and Gabrielle exchanged loaded glances - they had no need forwords.
"It's me. I've had safe delivery of a real baby before."
"I like a woman who know's what she's doing. Okay girls, grab a swig." Shewas craning her neck to keep her already unkempt bun out of her child'schubby hands.
The "girls" exchanged a sheepish glance.
"Aw c'mon, don't be shy! I heard you two earlier! Now! While Aunty Aphroburps Persephone! One at each breast."
And so saying, she put the year old child on the ground and she toddledquickly to her aunt.
The lovers got up off the bedroll and Xena knelt and Gabrielle bent to suckleat the Goddess' breasts.
"Zeus, girls don't be shy! What's gotten into you? Where's all that lust gone?"
They complied and stopped only when Demeter's milk ran out.
"Is that it?" asked Gabrielle in wonder. "Will Xena get pregnant with my babynow?"
"Not that easily! You two will have to make some effort you know!" saidDemeter briskly, as she picked up Persephone and applied her to a breastagain. "Just make love tonight - passionately would be best, it always gives achild a good start if its parents are as horny and hot for each other as youtwo evidently are."
To Xena and Gabrielle's amazement, Persephone was suckling milk - Demeterseemed to be able produce it at will - and the child had grown yet again asthey watched.
"Good luck, I don't envy you mortals - your kids hang around far too long! And as for that labour thing..."
"Mmmom-ma!" agreed Persephone, as she tugged another strand of hermother's hair loose from her bun.
"Praise Calliope child! I thought you were never going to open your mouth!"
And with that Demeter bustled off about her business.
The warrior and the bard were reeling. They looked at each other in stunneddisbelief and started to giggle.
"I can't believe it Xena, can you?"
"Nope. Pinch me, Gabrielle. I think I'm dreaming."
"Hmmm..I can think of better things to do than pinching you, warrior!"
Aphrodite was about to open her mouth to protest at the ingratitude ofmortals in general and the Warrior Babe in particular, when Gabrielle slid herhands under the hem of Xena's shift and pulled the warrior to her for a long, hungry kiss. She quickly changed her mind about protesting when, after Xenamirrored the bard's action and lifted the smaller woman off her feet, Gabriellewrapped her legs around the warrior's body.
"Hey! Long time since I had some girl action! That Sappho really rocked.
Wonder if these two are as good?"
She made herself invisible and settled in for a long night of passion. She wasn'tdisappointed.

Gabrielle woke to the sound of retching. Again. It seemed to a take ages toget Xena going these past few days.
At last they were ready and back on the road again, walking together asXena led Argo.
"Are you sure that fish stew was okay? It smelt awful to me."
"It was fine!" snapped Xena, looking pale and feeling shaky.
"I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong...."
"There's nothing wrong, I tell you! I'll be fine!"
"Look Xena, it's just not right that you should throw your guts up everymorning."
"Yes it is - sometimes!"
Xena looked pleadingly at her lover, hoping she'd make the connection, andnot sure how she was going to explain how she'd got pregnant. The bardwould never believe the idiotic dream she had had, nor that Xena hadn'tbeen unfaithful to her with a man.
Gabrielle frowned, and at last the dinar dropped.
"Oh my Gods! The dream came true! You're pregnant, aren't you?"
"Dream? What dream?"
"About Aphrodite and Demeter?"
The bard was in a cold sweat. Xena had been very cantankerous these lastfew weeks, but she had hardly been out of her sight long enough to havebeen with a man. At least, no man she didn't have to stand downwind from.
"Oh thank the Gods! I didn't hallucinate it then!" Her face lit up with relief. "Youknow I could never be with a man again now Gabrielle, I was so afraid..."Xena's words were cut off as Gabrielle threw her arms around her neck andkissed her.
"Oh my! I'm going to be a....parent! Hadn't you better take it easy? Get up onArgo?"
"Gabrielle.."
"I guess we'd better stay in taverns from now on, this camping stuff can't begood for you or the baby..."
"GABRIELLE!"
"What, Xena?"
The warrior looked as if she might start to breathe fire at any moment.
"I'm not sick. I'm pregnant."
"I know my love, isn't it wonderful?"
