The date for Floyd Day is incorrect. Floyd Day, the son of Samuel Day and Sarah Taylor, was born in 1903 or thereabouts. He died in March of 1965, his mother Sarah lived with his oldest brother Russell in Ohio until she died in 1969. His brother that you don't have listed was named Tilford Day and he died in 1950 in Kentucky. Floyd Day was my grandfather and he was married to Obra Smith, my father's name was Earl Day. Sam and Sarah's boys were Russell, Cecil, Floyd, and Tilford. I really enjoyed seeing the photographs. My father died in 1976, and my grandmother Obra Day (Floyd's wife) died in the 1990's. Floyd and Obra are both buried in Greenhills Memory Gardens, in Claypool Hill, VA. Thanks again for all the wonderful info.

I have just recently discovered my Native American Blood, I have always been on the Darker Side and no one in my Family could explain why. My second cousin had just completed his DNA, it came back heavy Native American. I am decended through RHODA Wilder m Andrew Miracle, I wasnt sure that Rhoda Wilder was the daughter of Rhoda Sizemore, but it make to much sense. The Cherokee/Creek blood doesnt stop with the Sizemore's we are also related to JAckson Green m Chaterine Buckhart, Davis and Obediah Fields. Thank you

Ruby Pennington Layton (only child of Wilma O Zion and John M Pennington) is my distant cousin. Wilma Zion Pennington died in 1990 at the age of 100 yrs 6 mos. Ruby thinks that LaFayette Zion's middle name is McMullen, and that Illa Zion's middle name is Iola. Loved the umbrellas!

I just found this page and my mother (Mossie Curry Hicks) is going to be thrilled to see it too. My father Albert passed away Thanksgiving 2004. My grand-parents are Martha Downey and Floyd Curry. We grew up on Roots Branch, Clay County, Ky. Unfortunately, the only relatives I remember are Boosie Bundy, and her husband John Henry Helton from Wallins Creek, Ky. They were some of the finest people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. My grand-mother Martha was also reported by many to be a great lady. I am just sad I did not get the chance to meet, and enjoy her company. I think Grand-parents are great, and so are parents. I know my are. Thanks to whoever developed this site. Great work...

Found your site to be very useful. Henry Cobb (m. Patience Hurst) was my 9 great grandfather (Henry -> James Cobb -> Mercy Cobb -> Richard Sparrow III -> Rebecca Sparrow -> Mercy Hopkins -> Josiah Yates -> Mary Yates -> Sumner Shaw -> Delmar Shaw -> Delmar Shaw, Jr. [my father]). Henry Begley b1734-d1802 married first Elizabeth Cook and secondly Elizabeth Pearsall Brannon. Elizabeth had a daughter by Robert Brannon, he died and she married Henry before 1769. Information to support this can be found in a court document that can be viewed at:

Wonderful Information. I just found you doing a search for Jesse James Helton son of JM and Sylvania Helton. I found Sylvania's Birth on this page. We are having trouble finding our lineage. My grandfather was raised with a different name only to find out when he applied for Social Security (on a trip to get his Social Security Card to KY from Ohio) that he was really a Helton. He was quite surprised!

Abraham Henry "Abe" Sasser and his wife Margaret Hammack Sasser, with family, did not come west in 1881 as has been stated. Their first child, born in Oregon, was Robert born in 1904. All children born before that was born in Kentucky. I am a grandson of this union by their youngest son Foy and am certain of what I have said.
