"Former German E-boat bunker Waalhaven Rotterdam"
Pictures of the German S boat bunker at the harbour "Waalhaven" Rotterdam.
The Germans started to build this Rotterdam S (E) boat bunker Autumn 1940.
Autumn 1944 the bunker was attacked with Tall Boy bombs and a part of the facade was blown off as well as a bomb managed to go through the roof.
After this attack the Germans moved (fled) their E boats to the "Poortershaven" between Hook of Holland and Maassluis.
After WW II, 1945, the Royal Dutch Navy rented the bunker from the Rotterdam Municipality till 1963.
Unfortunately the bunker was destroyed between 1964 and 1965.
Pictures of this bunker are very rare. I hope to add more pictures in the future.
If you have photo's of this bunker I would love to put them on my web site.
