| This is a warm, elegant piece that makes a statement. The lid is open- grained lacewood flanked by Peruvian walnut with accent strips of soft white maple. The box itself is made of quilted Claro (or Californian) walnut, and the corners are reinforced with Peruvian walnut dowels. One of my larger boxes, it measures approximately 13" long, 8" deep, and 4" high. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| Opening the lid reaveals the surprise within; two pieces of burled black walnut are bookmatched and joined together. That piece is then flanked by two strips of lacewood, tieing the bottom in nicely with the lid.
