This range is the best part of the Sahyadri mountain range.  Some of the highest forts are here. The view is simply breathtaking. For climbers this region provides some of the most fascinating and difficult propositions . Most of these forts have caves and water cisterns. This region is good for 2 - 3 day treks. IGATPURI railway station is one of the main gateways to this region.
