Formulation of the Mission Statement
Although there are some relatively obvious issues which need to be addressed, advocacy issues oftentimes are recurrent and/or new issues arise. For the Advocacy Group to be as effective as possible, careful thought should be given to our Mission Statement. Suggestions may be submitted by all members of the Advocacy Group. Board Members will carefully consider all submissions and once a Mission Statement has been decided upon, it will be posted in this area. In the meantime, you may view a Statement of Purpose which the group will use. Use the navigation bar to the left and click on Mission Statement.
Networking is an important aspect of advocacy. Through my research of available resources to use on Heart to Heart, I have discovered other Advocacy Groups that target specific areas. Sharing resources and information with other groups strengthens our positions. As our Advocacy Group encompasses caregivers, disabled individuals and professionals, we will be networking not only amongst ourselves but because we are easily accessible through the internet, our members can potentially span the entire country.
As questionnaires from visitors of Heart to Heart are submitted, the data will be compiled by one of the board members. This data will enable the Advocacy Group to prioritize issues and make determinations as whether specific locations are more lacking etc. The findings from the questionnaires will be provided on the site for visitors to view.
Once all the data and research has been compiled, the information will be prepared by the board and provided to our advocate who will subsequently take the necessary action with it and report as needed to the board. As the board is provided updates on progress, they will be provided on the site for viewing.
