This was another one of our KEWL weekend trips...Dave and I got inspired to drive somewhere we'd never been before, on a whim. So, we got in the Jeep and started driving...and we ended up finding the cute town of 100 Mile House (population a little over 1,000), in the interior of British Columbia! Check out some of our pix from this trip...*GRIN*

Along the Coquihala Highway, there's a gorgeous town called Merritt that is nestled in the Nicola Valley. We took this picture just outside of town, on our way towards Kamloops. It was SUCH a gorgeous day, with the sun shining over the snow!
This is a shot of 100 Mile House's Tourist Infocentre. Unfortunately, it isn't open on weekends (which is when we were there, overnight), but the highlight there of course are the giant skis in the foreground! *HEE HEE* They are apparently the world's longest skis, at 32 feet! Pretty amazing, eh???!
Just to give you a bit of perspective, Dave took this picture of lil' 5" 4' me, standing beside the skis. They absolutely DWARF me! *LOL* My supervisor at work, Eva, tells me the name on the skis, "Karhu," means "big bear." NO KIDDING! *HEE HEE* Actually, you can't see them too well but there is a bear symbol on each ski, by the name!
We didn't have much time the next day before we had to head towards home, but Dave and I took a little drive up Highway 97 some more, and about 20 minutes out of 100 Mile House, we stumbled upon this AMAZING tourist site, called 108 Mile Ranch! Unfortunately, it too was closed because of it being the off-season, but we really enjoyed taking pix of this stunning place. It had a ranch house and other labelled buildings, like a blacksmith's...*GRIN* We thought it looked so pretty, with the newly fallen snow...
This is one of our fave spots to stop along the Trans-Canada Highway, just outside the little town of Lytton (the river rafting capital of Canada, I believe!). The rock formations carved by the Fraser River are just PHENOMENAL, so Dave and I thought we'd use 'em as a backdrop with my camera on timer...*HEE HEE*
Here we are with another one of our infamous "arm's length" shots. Geez, my nose is red enough to compete with RUDOLPH (yep, the red-nosed reindeer)! *LMAO* It was really cold out there that November day...
Just outside the itty bitty village of Spuzzum (love that name!) on the Trans-Canada Highway, the majestic Alexandria Bridge crosses over the Fraser River. The next pictures will show you why we took this shot...*HEE HEE*
This here is the OLD, decommissioned Alexandria bridge...*GRIN* It's now set up as a Provincial Park site that can only be accessed by foot, so Dave and I stopped to check it out...and I'm glad we did! Isn't it AMAZING???! I love this shot of Dave as he was ready to step on there. The bridge deck itself is actually see-through (the mighty Fraser River flows underneath it)...almost freaky, actually. But, it's still very strong...so it's no problem for anyone wanting to walk along it!
And here I am, standing on the bridge! Either Dave must've been holding the camera crooked, or the bridge was moving more than I thought...*LMAO* I was having a hard time looking down at the raging waters below...a little TOO spooky, for my taste! I don't believe the road behind me actually goes anywhere, 'cuz there's a railroad track running perpendicular above it, at the mountain face...*HEE HEE*
And here's one more picture of this architectural beauty on its own that I took, facing back towards the Trans-Canada highway from where I'm standing (it's a bit higher, and behind the trees). This was SUCH a kewl thing to stop for...*GRIN*
