-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Quote of the Blog:
Friday, February 10, 2006
It's been a while since I last blogged...about 3 weeks, I think. Life around here has been getting kinda busy with reading week coming soon. There's quite a bit of assignments/tests/presentations to do before and right after that week=S
Anyhooey...it's been a long two weeks. For some odd reason, time seems to be going soooo slowly, and Fridays never seem to come. Yet when they do, you're too tired to enjoy them, you know?
But either way, I guess it's been good for me, cuz even with all the work to do, I've been able to spend quite a bit of it thinking & reflecting on life as li'l me.
I've come to realize how important it is to really put yourself into someone else's shoes - not literally, of course. Maybe it's cuz university life exposes me to a lot more people - different people - and I've often found myself judging them...and I know I shouldn't be. So, I guess, I've developed an "automatic" response of trying to step inside their shoes.
And sometimes, people tell you things...maybe not even people you're especially close with...just people you happen to be making small talk with, and they tell you something that you didn't know about them before. All of a sudden, pieces of them in your mind fit together, and you realize, it's impossible to know what people are going through.
I believe that everyone has their own problems - most of which are bigger than mine. I believe that troubles you go through don't only help you grow, but help you learn how to respond to other people's pain.
When it seems like you're the only one in the world going through what it is that you're going through...know that it's not true. And when you encounter someone who thinks they're the only one...let them know they're not handling it alone. Even if it's something you've never experienced, a listening ear can be a miracle to anyone. And most of all, pray for them...pray with them if you can.
Even the littlest people can do the littlest things to make a big difference in the big picture.
Proud to be small,
