Lawyers we are not. But every partnership or organisation needs some sort of guidelines, rules if you like. We’ve set out our guiding principles in a League Charter (we’re mainly Brits so “charter” as opposed to “constitution”, but you get the idea.) We have also set out League Rules. There is a separate section on the Contract Rules and the Free Agent Auction. By agreeing to participate in the EHL, you automatically become a member of the EHL There are certain guidelines all members are expected to follow, which are detailed in this Charter. Managers are expected to:- 1. Manage their Franchise in accordance with EHL rules and any additional details decided by the Commissioner(s). 2. Complete their fixtures for a season once the season is underway. 3. Play their home matches;- 4. Report their results to the appropriate person on a regular basis - at least once a month - and report their statistics as requested by the Commissioner(s). 5. Forward their match scoresheets to the road team manager by the 10th of the month following the month the game was played. (i.e. December scoresheets must be forwarded by 10th January). 6. Inform the Commissioner(s) of any problems they may have which could affect their commitment to the EHL during the regular season. HOWEVER, the Commissioner(s) realise that on occasion the pressures of real life may affect a members EHL commitment. In that case, the member is EXPECTED to advise the Commissioner(s) in writing or by 'phone in person (answerphone message's not acceptable) of their situation and the likely impact upon the schedule. The Commissioner(s) shall decide how to handle any such occurrence on an individual basis, but to the benefit of both the member and the rest of the EHL as far as is reasonable. The Commissioner(s) is/are expected to:- 1. Administrate and lead the EHL for the benefit of its' members. 2. Arbitrate any matters or disputes arising in a reasonable, judged manner. 3. Provide the members with:- Any member who either infringes, breaks or disregards any of the guidelines of the Charter may be penalised as deemed fit by the Commissioners (or by the majority of the Members in the case of a Commissioner). Penalties may range simply from forfeiture of matches or draft picks, all the way up to expulsion from the EHL, dependant upon the severity of the incident and the members' previous record. |
