About Us
We are a non-profit organization in the Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics at McGill University.
We do represent the Civil Engineering Graduate Students at four University official forums (Departamental Meetings, Student Staff Meetings, PGSS and Faculty Meetings). We also organize and fund activities for the Civil Engineering Grad students.
All graduate students in the Civil Engineering Department automatically become members upon registration.

- Pub Nite!!!: The CEGSS is having a Pub Night Event at Thomson House (3650 McTavish, first floor) this Thursday October 20th starting at 7:00 PM. All civil engineering graduate students, profs, staff and friends are welcomed. There will be some free beer and snacks. It's a great opportunity to meet one another and have a good time. - CEGSS Wine and Cheese Party! Friday 23 September, 3:00 pm, at Room 497 Macdonald Engineering Building. We welcome all Civil Engineering Graduate Students, Staff and Professors, to meet one another, have a good time, and enjoy some (free) good food and drinks.
- Also we will nominate positions for the council 2005-2006. Don't miss it! The list of duties and responsabilities for the council members is here. This is a great opportunity for get known inside the Faculty, make friends, and all of it with minimal work for a busy grad student.

- Camping! Classes are about to begin again this September, but a little bit of relaxing together is what we need before. This summer we have planned a two day event to be held on August 13 and 14, 2005 at the Parc La Mauricie campground, 2 hours north of Montreal. Students, faculty and guests are welcomed to come. begin!

- New words and messages from our President.
- New Graduate Report. A Graduate Research Evaluation Tracking Report has been implemented, to be done by each student (All Master, Ph.D.) with his/her supervisor, starting February 20th. See the file with guidelines and a sample document in our Files Section.
- Farewell to Mr. Alan Peabody. Our friend will soon depart back to his home Alaska, just after submitting his Ph.D. Thesis. He'll be back for his Final Oral Exam. See some pictures of the good-bye party in our Album, under the section Other Pictures, Various Dates, 2004.
