"Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance." --Will Durant
...nevertheless, I like school.

I am currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. I will be graduating in May '04 with degrees in Mathmatics, Philosophy, Political Science, and Public Administration. I'm also in the University Honors Program. My career goal is to become a professor at a university. I am applying to the doctorate program in political science at several schools in the Boston area. I will hear back from them in May. I really enjoy the college experience. I would recommend this school to anyone. I live in a 3-bedroom duplex across from Mr. D's bakery/restaurant. My roommates are Paul Noffke and Chris Dirocco. You can send me snail mail at 1145 State St. La Crosse, WI 54601.

My Essays

Here are a couple of the better essays that I have written over the years. They aren't research papers or anything like that. They are actually quite interesting, or else why would I put them on the website?

A critical reading of Dostoevsky's Underground Man {12/6/02}
     This is a rather philosophical piece that examines Dostoevsky's attack on the theory of rational egoism. It's not too bad. Collection of short essay's for Honors classes {02-03}
     I've combined some of my short but well-written think pieces.
My Principles of Life {8/2/98}
     This essay deals with my three life principles: Live in the Now, Be Productive, Be Happy
Procrastination Letter {4/20/00}
     This is an essay written in letter form. I was assigned to write a personal narrative. This is what I came up with.
Rusty Love Letter {8/2/00}
     The premise of this paper is that of my friend Prichard's dog, Lady, writing a love letter to my dog, Rusty. Enjoy.
Writing about Reading {11/28/99}
     This paper is an afront to the traditional school process of introducing reading to students.
A Summation of My Theory of Knowledge {5/12/03}
     The title kind of says it all. I loved this class. Dr. Kraemer rules.
Colababy Monologue {10/18/99}
     This is a monologue that I had to memorize and present to my drama class. It's really quite funny. I did not write this, but I did perform it, so I thought I'd add it.
"The Beltzer" by Sara Casperson. {9/21/00}
     I was deeply honored to be the subject of this essay written by Sara. I feel it is a good representation of what I'm all about. I'd like to thank Sara for allowing me to put this on my site.
Self Improvement {11/28/00}
     This paper fulfilled my writing project requirement for my Honors 100 class. I am quite proud of this paper. It is written in a very casual manner, but contains many important messages.
The Beer Man {1997-98}      This is a little cartoon thing I made during my freshman and sophomore years of high school. It's not an essay, but it's pretty funny.
