Dark Green
Author: Cherry-chan
Artist: Cherry-chan |
Mint is the traditional magical girl (although without sailor fuku), fighting the traditional bad guys. So far, so good. The problem is that this time the bad guy is a part of the person she loves most. Talk about split personalities, eh? ^^; Well, it's getting worse when a demon appeares and splits the boy into a light and a dark side. Unfortunately, Aozora (the light one) isn't going to survive this, so Mint is out to save him, even if it means that she has to make Akaiya (the dark one) fall in love with her... |

I riffed this story in Moonies Shibai 4, and Cherry-chan was really cool about it, so I feel I owe her a review. Some nice computer art in here, well chosen backgrounds (some of them self-made) and really cute character design. I love the "profiles" opening of ep. 10. The music is well-chosen, but the voices are iffy. Libra's and Darky's are way too quiet (I have to kick WAVs almost to the top and all but turn MIDs off just to hear them), as well as "Midori Flash!". Ascot's lines have too much static or something. Midori, Kit and Sune are okay. I just love Kartho's Akayia. It wouldn't stand without the plot tough, interesting, well-paced and logical, with characters you can get to know and like, even the main bad guy (although Darky is a bit too Token Minion so far). This story has a good chance to become a Legendary Kami Epic if Cherry can keep it running. |

I really like this story. It's a bit confusing in the first episode but gets better very fast. The story is interesting and very fast paced and has also got some humour thrown into it - just the way I like it ^^. It also helps that the art is lovely. |
Story: 6 |
(Very nice, and definitely one of the more original magical girl stories) |
Art: 6 |
(Absolutely lovely artwork) |
Music & Sound: 4 |
(The music is well chosen, but changes too quickly. The sounds are of changing quality (and most of the time to quiet) but do the job) |
Fancy stuff: 4 |
(Nice animations and a really great transformation scene add to this kami) |
Overall: 6 |
This story is a must have for all lovers of original magical girl stories. |

The Demon's Bride
Author: Ribby
Artist: Ribby |
In this sequel to the ever-popular Hikawa Hijinks!, we learn about the adventures of Sumire, who comes back to Kazaro with her cousin Asuza. See more incredible adventures, more evil spirits and more people with pointy ears. (Not Vulcans, though.) |

The plot is intriguing and dark as usual, and I'm hoping for a few nice twists before the final conclusion. On the downside, the series is rather stuck at the moment. Also, the art hasn't improved one bit. So if you didn't like it before, don't bother reading. |

Demon hunter Giest:
Cavern of Shades

Giest fights his way through four action-packed chapters to find out the horryfing secret of the Cavern of Shades. One of the best Kamishibai games! |

A thrilling plot, great computer artwork and difficult but logical puzzles. Those are the three main reasons why this game is still just as entertaining as it was three years ago. The fights can sometimes be fustrating, with instant death awaiting at every wrong choice, but that can be amended with some save/restore action and maybe a walkthrough to consult. This is one of my all-time favourite Kamishibai. |
