- Nice try, Chang! C: I submitted my first essay "Overseas" in the vol.1 to a Chinese newspaper, and they asked me to write its sequels. Actually I was thinking to make some money out of it, and asked
them how much I can get per word, but finally they didn't reply
to me... (Everyone laughs) M: Umm...it's difficult to earn money with literature. That's
why we distribute our magazine for free. C: I think Chinese newspapers published overseas don't pay manuscript fees. |
- Relay writing
"Cafe Evergreen"
Chang: Relay
writing was hard, wasn't it? If it's a movie, different directors take
each squeal.
Megumi: Maybe we were too individualistic (laughter).
C: I think writing is really individual.
Emiri: That's our conclusion (laughter).
M: Some people may find it interesting, but for five of us, it was not so successful. Itsuka wrote the first chapter, but she wasn't confident that she could write enough from the perspective of a Kiwi guy, so she asked Daniel to write next.
But Daniel didn't actually remember much of her writing and our settings, so he just continued the story. Although the title was "Cafe Evergreen", the cafe didn't appear in the first two chapters.
The last part was my turn, and finally 'Cafe Evergreen' appeared in the story. Actually, many of us were really satisfied with the last one, and wanted to finish it at that point (laughter). It became not really a relay writingchalf of it is my work. Emiri tried to write, but could not succeed it, so...(laughter).

- Marriage
of the members M: Our
members, Itsuka and Daniel got married a year ago. We made a special
issue for their marriage. M: We were planning it without telling them. It was really surprising for them. I put a picture of their wedding. Itsuka continued using her maiden name in the magazine. By the way, at that time all of us except me were away from Palmy, so I did publishing all by myself (laughter). It was really hard work because I could not talk to anybody about the layout or something. It was the first time I took a lead of issuing, but after that, I almost took over the initiative of publication (laughter). |
