MENAD Railroad Systems Photo Album
These photos are taken on a digital camera and show various points of our 12ft x 12ft modular layout in N Scale. The layout consists of 2 6ft x 4ft individual layouts connected together by 2 adaptor modules, 2 corner modules and a 6ft module.
These are from the "Bowen" module which has several long lost railroad items and landmarks on it. All buildings are scratch from photos. On the left is the "engine Shed". Next is another view along the module. Next is the view back from the previous, showing the "coal trestle and bunkers". The last depicts part of the current "Bowen Coke Works"
This set is from the module above as well as a corner and adaptor module. The first is a freelance "Goods shed" made of Linka bricks, while next to it is a model of the "Burns Philp" building that once existed as the Bond Building near the main Jetty in Bowen. Following this is a freelance "Queenslander" on the adaptor module. Last is the skeleton of the "Bowen Salt Works" building. This unique building adjacent to the commercial salt pans has recently been replaced with a modern shed arrangement. This was scratchbuilt from self measurements.
Here we have another shot of the coal trestle and engine shed. No 2 is a shot of a new "Doodlebug" traversing the Menad Railroad System. No 3 shows a LMS Beyer Garratt about to move into the tunnel on the adaptor module. This is a UK kit using two Graham Farish Loco chassis. Lastly is a scene looking across the lake to the "Queenslander" on the adaptor module.
The first shot shows a scratch section of Bowen's Herbert Street commercial complex. This was built from photos. Next is the "Queenslander". Next is a long view of Menad Railroad Systems, with the last being a view of the Santa Marguerita Railroad.
Thanks for visiting
Hope you enjoyed these "snapshots" of our layout.
