I am currently a PhD candidate at UCLA, where I study eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British literature. I am especially interested in drama and performance studies, women's writing, romanticism, and popular culture. My dissertation is on gothic drama, the much neglected theatrical cousins of the gothic novel. Web design has long been a hobby of mine, and in recent years it has become part of my professional research and teaching endeavors. Digital literacy is growing more and more important, for both students and established scholars, and I plan to incorporate it in future research projects and course curriculum. I would love to do a digital edition someday, maybe of one of Boaden's celebrity biographies, if not a little-known gothic play, but that project will have to wait for now.
I married Luke Brannon in September 2004 and our wonderful daughter, Wendy, was born in October 2006. When I'm not reading and writing, or taking care of the baby, we keep busy visiting family, road-tripping and hiking, watching football, and playing videogames.
