New photos: My summer playground (Lake Calhoun) in fall. Mostly ice, but some water left in the middle The view from my apartment at dawn after a light snow. Minneapolis at night with the Mississippi in the foreground The last suppper - my last night in Minneapolis. We had a work dinner down at Nicollet Island Inn. Bloody cold. I think it was about 10F (approx -10C), but it could have been anything from -5F to 20F. Horse drawn carriage rides in the cold of the night. These Americans are crazy people! Me and the GG. The white spotches are the flash reflecting off falling snowflakes Me and a cape they provided to try to keep us warm. I managed to live through my stay without buying gloves, scarf or a a real hat, but I regretted it!
The old favourites: The mighty Mississippi just north of Minneapolis - before it winds its way down south to the Gulf of Mexico. Still bloody big eh? Pete & I on our way to an island in the middle. Note the big log on it's way to wipe us out. Just north of Minneapolis is Duluth (Not 'Dulluth' as I was quickly told, but 'Dulooth' Some of the nice Autumn colours (not colors!) A quaint little waterfall we found when looking for bears. We didn't find any, though. My favourite rollerblading track, around Lake Calhoun. More tracks with nice autumnal colours The office grounds in November.
8 July 2000. Dinner at Jo's apartment. Grace, YT and Jo. There is another photo taken with Pete, but I am not allowed to put it up on the web page. I managed to get them out on blades - sort of.... She looks really happy right? I little spill I had on my blades. It's now 11 days after that and I still look like a hero. My friend Andie. An example of the high calibre of people I manage to meet in Minneapolis. Lake Minnetonka in Minneapolis. Kathy's brother-in-laws house. It would be a real pisser of a place to live...... The Guinness and Oyster festival 2000 in Minneapolis. Me and Jo. I lapsed. I enjoyed a half and half - Guinness and Harp [Lager] with some oysters and legs of Sonia and Jo. |
