4GKZ_002.JPG (11950 bytes) Before we talk about New York,  this is a shot of Lake Calhoun.  Close to where I work and live, and where I do most of my rollerblading.  Comparable to Centennial Park in size and with awesome scenery - where sunglasses are mandatory.

4GKZ_010.JPG (10157 bytes) The Big Apple with the lovely Statue in the background.

4GKZ_009.JPG (10080 bytes) James Miller - travel buddy for the weekend.  We were staying with Linn who did not make it out that afternoon.

4GKZ_011.JPG (12775 bytes) A 'busker' outside the Metropolitan Museum.  I would love to have gone inside, but we did not have time to do it justice.

4GKZ_012.JPG (12174 bytes) The Gugenheim opposite Central Park.  There are a few Gugenheim galleries in NY, but this is The One.  Of the hundreds of paintings that I saw (Dali's and Picasso's just everywhere) I saw one Australian painting, which made me very happy.  (The name of the painter eludes me at this time, but it wasn't  a name that Michael Philistine Adcock was familiar with.

4GKZ_013.JPG (12767 bytes) Times Square.  A very busy place.  I do not understand the attraction of the place, but it's a Mecca.

4GKZ_015.JPG (20455 bytes) Entrance to the Empire State Building with James Miller

4GKZ_016.JPG (18874 bytes) Looking north over Manhattan

4GKZ_017.JPG (21485 bytes) Looking south over Manhattan

4GKZ_018.JPG (15193 bytes) The boys on the 86th floor.  There is a higher viewing location, but it is enclosed and was closed on the day.  This was the place to be.

4GKZ_021.JPG (13488 bytes) Change of scenery.  This was where I stayed on one of my trips to Boston.  It's about 20 miles south.  I wanted to stay 'downtown,' but the appropriate hotels were full, so I stayed near to our local guy, so we could spend some quality time talking in the car on the way in to the meetings.

4GKZ_022.JPG (21237 bytes) Charles Street Prison, Boston.  Owned by the Massachusetts General Hospital.  Working with the security team, we were able to get a private tour.  It is not open to the public.  It only closed about 5 years ago.  Can you imagine?  I thought these types of places were shut/upgraded 20 years ago.

4GKZ_025.JPG (13277 bytes) Cell 13.  Lots of bars, lots of bricks.  Lot's of cell mates.... I take back comments about the hotels I have stayed in.
