ACCORD ENGINE SHOP The original JDM motor and tranny was purchased through Redshift Racing (Vancouver, B.C.). It was originally mated to an automatic tranny at the time. The motor and tranny came with drive-axles (including intermediate shaft), ECU. Ordered separately were a top and bottom end gasket set, distibutor cap/rotor set, timing belt. Upon closer inspection, there are several interesting points to note concerning the JDM motor: 1) Exhaust manifold bolt pattern matches the B series offered in the USDM 3rd gen Prelude. 2) Air intake ducting uses the same methods as the USDM Accord version. 3) Cam gears are much larger than the USDM counter-part. They are actually as large as a SOHC Civic gear. 4) The throttle cable hooks-up to a bracket, which leads towards the right hand side of the car (for right hand side drive). |
