 Exploration

Already 9 o'clock in the morning, even though still felt like continue sleeping but we forced ourself to wake up. I told myself that not to waste the time here, there is always some interesting things to do. We gonna get down to the restaurant as soon as possible, because the buffet breakfast would end  at 10:30am. If we missed it we've to pay for the à la carte order.

We planned to explore the island today, we would go to any angle that we could reach. First, we walked to the right hand direction of the swimming pool, passed thru the chalets then arrived at the backyard garage. Further down there is a small beach that we can see the Sibu Kukus Island not far away. A lot of tiny crabs running on the beach, the color of their bodies just like the sand, it's not easy to spot them. Spontaneously, we caught a few crabs into a bottle, filled in some sand, and brought it back to the chalet. Just to observe their behaviour.

Only a short stop at the chalet, we picked up the water bottle and some titbits then went on for jungle trekking. We started the trekking trail at Beach 3 (as shown in the Plan Layout).  The view is magnificent but the beach is a bit rocky. From there we hiked up to the animal cage which is keeping deer and goats. As we going up the hill would lead us to the jungle. While ascending, we passed thru a big water tank, then reached the Viewing Point at the left hand side. It offers a wide angle view of Sibu Besar Island and Papan Island. This trek is easy to navigate, not much difficulty in directions. There is a steep slope while descending, just a few steps and there is a rope rail to assist your walk We came across a Mangrove Beach not far from the slope. We spent a short while to appreciate the scenery there. Then returned to the jungle to hike the way back, the trail leads us to another beach. We walked along the beach and met a western couple sun bathe there. Came to the edge of the beach and climbed over some rocks then we returned to the beach that we caught crabs this morning. We already completed the trek, we came back to the place that we recognized. Followed the rocks, we hiked to the front compound of the resort, almost near the jetty. We decided to end our trek here and went back to the chalet for a chill.

We didn't eat lunch at the restaurant, we had the cup noodles that brought from mainland. After a small rest, we went snorkelling at the nearby beach. To my biggest surprise, the marine life here are even

more than Sibu Kukus. At the very shallow water, I can see corals and fishes. But I'm a little worry that the snorkellers and the people playing at the beach might damage the corals, because they are really shallow. Gobies and shrimps are abundant at the sandy bed, there are several types of Goby such like Banded Goby, Lemon Goby, and Spotted Goby. Various type of clam and worm can be found. A lot more interesting creatures to be explored, unfortunately the night has fallen, the visibility turned low, and we got up from the sea.

Buffet cum Poolside BBQ dinner is held on every Saturday. Tables and stalls were setup around the swimming pool. Various varieties of food were available to suite everyone's appetites. The atmosphere

was brought up high by the live band performed on stage. The resort staff also take the opportunity to present Chinese and Malay traditional dances as one of the highlight tonight. Guests were invited on stage to join them dancing. There was also a dancing competition for kid and adult categories. They been told to imitate Michael Jackson's 'Moon Walking'. Some jokers really burst everybody into laughters.

After the dinner, some people went for squids catching. The squids caught were cooked and consumed on the boat immediately, therefore they were real fresh.
