Placements

Volunteer positions are available at any time of the year in any of our programs (except the Jungle Program which is only available from March to December, due to the rainy season). We require that you commit for a minimum of one month. The volunteering period has monthly starts and the best time of arriving is around the first week  of every month.

Accomodation

You will have two choices of accomodation, either at the Volunteers Residence or at a homestay with a local Perivuan family.

Volunteers Residence;

The residence is located at a very nice and quite neighbourood, close to the centre of town and easily accessible by public transport. Bedrooms are shared, comfortable and well furnished. The Volunteers Residence has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilites, internet access and shared bathrooms with hot water. Breakfast is provided and is a small house run by a Peruvian family.

Homestay;

Volunteers are placed with a Peruvian family, chosen according to the their needs and preferences. Our families are typical middle class Peruvians and enjoy opening their homes to foreigners. You will have plenty of opportunities to practice your conversation and comprehension skills with your family. In addition, you will observe and participate in everyday Peruvian life and culture. You will be provided with a bedroom, hot showers, laundry facilities and breakfast is provided. A minimum of one months notice is require for a homestay.

Volunteer Assingments

Program Directors work closley with each volunteer to ensure that both they, as well as the participating organisation, are content with the arrangement. While we are committed to ensuring that the volunteer placements are a success, we ask our volunteers to show patience, maturity and initiative, The most successful candidates are able to be flexible and enthusiastic about working where they are needed most.
