1999 -  CART FedEx series driver at Homestead in place of Paul Tracy for Team KOOL Green . . . also drove for All American Racers at the GP of Chicago and Fontana . . . Indy Racing League driver for Brant Motorsports  . . . 5th place finish at Walt Disney World 200 . . .

1998 -  Indy Racing League series driver for McCormack Motorsports . . . also drove for Panoz Motorsports in the Professional Sports Car Racing series along with the USRRC series . . .

1997 -  CART PPG series driver for Patrick Racing . . . best finish of the season was 3rd in Portland . . . Brahma, Raul's sponsor for the past two years, decided to withdraw their CART sponsorship for 1998 in order to concentrate on World Cup . . . finished 10th in points for the PPG cup . . .

1996 -  CART PPG series driver for Team Green . . . 1st season with Brahma sponsorship . . . finished 22nd in the PPG Cup points, his lowest standing since finishing 27th in 1987 . . . had three top-10 finishes including season-best showings of 7th at Rio and Michigan . . .

1995 -  CART PPG series driver for Team Rahal-Hogan . . . Highlights include qualifying third at Miami and finishing fourth at Portland . . . had seven top-10 finishes with sixths at Miami, Phoenix and Toronto . . . finished in 16th place in PPG Cup points . . .

1994 -  IndyCar series driver for Dick Simon Racing . . . started all 16 races . . . started 2nd at Indy but dropped out to finish 21st . . . scored 2nd pole of his career at Milwaukee . . . led most laps at Michigan but an engine problem late in race denied him his first IndyCar victory . . . finished 2nd at Laguna Seca and scored three other top-5 finishes . . .

1993 -  IndyCar series driver for Dick Simon Racing . . . had first career pole at Milwaukee . . . finished 2nd three times . . . completed most miles of all drivers (3543.352 of 3658.902) . . . tied with Bobby Rahal for most top-10 finishes, 13 . . . despite two stop and go penalties, finished 4th at the Indy 500 . . . finished 5th overall in his most competitive IndyCar season to date, finishing in the points in 15 of 16 races . . .

1992 -  Started season at Indianapolis and replaced injured driver Hiro Matsushita at Dick Simon Racing . . . finished 2nd at Detroit and secured sponsorship for the remainder of the season . . . logged 10 top-10 finishes in 13 starts, including 3rd at Marlboro 500 . . . qualified for Marlboro Challenge by virtue of points, started 10th, finished 5th . . .

1991 -  IMSA GTP driver for Jaguar . . . won Miami Grand Prix . . . was 2nd at 24 Hours of LeMans . . . finished 6th in IMSA GTP points . . .

1990 -  Scored eight top-10 finishes, earned a 12th place in PPG point standings for Truesports . . . best finishes were a pair of 6ths, at Milwaukee and Detroit . . .
