While open-wheeled cars loomed in Raul's future, he did return to drive for Jaguar in 1988 and won the 24 hours of Daytona in the XJR-9 V12.

Raul returned to the TWR Jaguar Team in 1991, driving a full season in the IMSA GTP Series. He won the GP of Miami in an XJR-10 and also finished 2nd at Le Mans in a Silk Cut XJR-12.
