It had 130K miles, and the usual Chrysler product problems, including MAP sensor and peeling paint on the hood. I loved that car almost as much as my first car, a 1970 Dodge Coronet, with slant 6. Both cars were high maintenace, but stuff you can do yourself, mostly. The Lebaron was a downright pretty car, which women love to look at, but men love to drive. Good luck to all you present owners. I will watch for your comments. |

Girls just love this car, and I do too! Options: Power everything, leather, digital dash, Sport Suspension, premium sound system (for the time, anyway!). My mods: Pioneer CD player and speakers (six total), new top, new paint, over-sized oil filter, K&N air filter, two-stage boost bleed (7psi-14psi), Mopar Performance computer, Autometer boost guage and Intellitronix Air/Fuel Ratio guage. Future mods: '88 Conquest intercooler (awaiting installation), 2.5" exhaust (hopefully soon!). Very fun to drive, and in the words of Reno Raines (Lorenzo Lamas) from the show "Renegade", "I need to get into the wind..." |

I originally ordered a GTC with the 2.2 VNT engine, but Chrysler stopped production right before the order could be filled. This car has been a model of reliability - amazingly, the original battery only recently die . "Louis," as we call it, now has nearly 150,000 miles on it and loses not a single drop of oil between changes, still gets nearly 30 mpg, runs as smooth as the day it was delivered and every component works flawlessly (right down to the automatic door l cks). The secret: a comprehensive maintenance program I've developed over twenty years - a key element of which is 3000 mile synthetic oil and filter changes. I forgot to mention that it is still a very fun car to drive and the infinity stereo and count ess standard luxury features continue to impress. It still has the best air conditioning system of any car I've ever owned (including some 60's era T-Birds). For tires, I've found that the best on this car is the Dunlop D60-A2 (much better than the OEM agle GT+4). My wife is now its principal daily driver and while we occasionally talk of trading it in on a new 300M, its enduring beauty, performance and reliability always convinces us to keep it.
