The engine and auto box were tired (perhaps being tweaked to flash to 15 lbs of boost had something to do with it), so they went for the powertrain in there n w. The shocks gave way...to a set of adjustable Konis. The exhaust was replaced with a free flowing system to let the turbo spool up faster. The result? One day I was racing a tweaked Civic in Va. Beach, and after a few tries, the driver rolled down t e window, so I did the same. He said "That's really fast!!" I replied,"It's a twelve year old Chrysler with 160,000 miles on it..." |

Actually I've noticed a lot of cars on the web have these '86 and 87' K cars. But a lot of people have the AJ. Even one of the people I work with has an '86. I think in '86 the GTS was an AJ. A week later she smashed it up causing almost $6000 damage to the front end and sustained a seperated shoulder in the wreck, .. Now it is back from the body shop repa ired with MOPAR parts, and fresh paint. She is nervous to drive it, so she "gave" it to me, and is now driving my minivan.... In the past week of exclusively driving this car, I have fallen in love with it, and plan to get a wicked stereo system, and some nice overszed rims and extremely low profile tires, and cruise the hell out of it next summer!!! |

Wanted one since I was 14 when i first saw an all white one. Now 25 and I have owned two. Bought my first one, the 88, in 1993. Then I purchased my 89 in 1997. I am currently working on purchasing a 3rd one a 1989 TURBO GT Convertible. Ag in all white. Only this one has white leather seats with Burgandy vinyl and carpet interior. Just like the one in the 89 sales brouchure. The 88 was heavly modified: big valve head, 314 turbo cam, MP computer, KYB springs shocks and struts, dropped 2in 50 series Firehawks, all emblems on car were 24kt gold, GRIP cross-drilled rotors /w carbon kevlar pads. The 89 is only slightly modded: grainger valve (car hits 15 psi of boost now!), MONZA resonated dual 2 1/2 exhaust tip, no muffler, 65 series Pirellis, K N filter /w modified air box, turbo gauge cluster from 87 daytona pacifica. Well I guess that about covers it, happy motoring! |
