The «losange»:

  1. The type number of the car
  2. The chassisnumber
  3. The last two digits of the modelyear

The oval:

  1. The type number of the car.
  2. The first digit designates the gearbox-type,
    the second digit indicates a special.
  3. The equipment number, depending on the country.
  4. The extra equipment that has been installed at the factory.
  5. The build number.
  6. For some countries, the modelyear.

The rectangular typeplate:
